A couple of DC chapter freepers have decided to do a $1000 "Christmas for Don and Terri" drive.
We will match dollar for dollar all contributions up to a total aggregated maximum of $1000.
The original thread is here.

Envelopes must be postmarked after Dec. 15, 2004 and before Dec. 25, 2004 and the envelope must have "Merry Christmas" on it. And that means "Xmas" or "Happy Holidays" will not do. Neither will "Merry secular gift giving day"
Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas.
An address would help to get that Merry Christman envelope to the right place.
Who are "Don and Terri"?
Ping for the Adames.
This is the second one of these beg-a-thons in the last month.
SORRY ABOUT THAT

We are still cleaning up the mess the Clintons left.
Read the original article and decide for yourself.
And no one is begging you. It is all voluntary and of your own free will.
Don is the first conservative casualty I can remember in the repercussion of a freep. First time I heard the word 'freep' too.
My question was rhetorical in nature. Posters shouldn't automatically assume that readers know who is being discussed.
Adams Bump!
It's a poverty that you apparently don't know basic FReeper history nor understand how important the defense of the Adamses is.
$100 on it's way. Merry Christmas and a big thanks to the DC chapter.
Don Adams Update: Urgent Help Needed on Appeal
Don Adams Update: Teamsters File Motion to Recover $62,673.46 in Fees and Costs
Summary of the 8/6/2003 Don Adams Decision, U.S. District Court
Last month we had Race Bannon, this month it's the Adamses.
I'm just remarking on a new mission that FR apparently now has, that of raising money for legal defenses of any FReeper in a lawsuit.
Thank you.
So you'd just let them fend for themselves even if wrongly attacked for the causes we all believe in?
It's not any FReeper in a lawsuit. It's two lawsuits that involve liberals punishing FReepers for peacefully exercizing their First Amendment rights. And it's only when Jim Robinson has approved such postings.
Don and Teri Adams were viciously assaulted by Teamster thugs for peaceably protesting Clinton in Philadelphia in 1998. Incredibly, the Democratic local prosecutor then charged the Adams with assault. Don Adams was found not guilty. NO criminal charges are now pending against Don and Teri Adams. Five teamsters pled guilty or were convicted in criminal court.
The civil lawsuit to vindicate the First Amendment rights of the Adams is still pending and is up on appeal. More details are at this link (click here for DON ADAMS UPDATE: Urgent Help Needed on Appeal).
This thread is not about Race Bannon, but he is being sued by some Al Sharpton wannabe as a result of Race peacefully exercizing his First Amendment rights during the Sore Loserman protests of 2000.
Defending the First Amendment rights of these FReepers is quite important to the mission of FR.
Are you saying that FReepers should not help other FReepers under these circumstances?
No one is talking about raising money to help FReepers involved in real estate suits or traffic accident litigation.
time to get off sinkspur's back. He made an uninformed comment, expressed an opinion and maybe he is right. I think he is wrong. But no big deal, and we shall leave it at that.
Sinky has been around long enough that I don't buy the "uninformed" escape hatch you are giving him.
I reserve the right to criticize whom i see fit.
I'm not on Sinkspur's back. I just responded to his comment. (Nor do I think that Sauropod was on Sinkspur's back.)
Sinkspur had raised some legitimate issues for discussion. I thought that explaining some of the background on the Adams case and Race Bannon's situation might advance the understanding of the situation as no background was given in the first post.
My post was about the merits, not a personal attack on Sinkspur. I did seek clarification of what Sinkspur's point was, although it looks like Sauropod posed essentially the same question to Sinkspur before I posted. Moreover, whether Sinkspur chooses to respond or not is up to him. Either way, I wish Sinkspur, Sauropod and Staytrue all a Merry Christmas!
I just hope management has put firm fences around this process.
FYI, Race Bannon clearly stated in his thread that he had Jim Rob's permission to do his fundraising and I contacted FR also and got this freepmail back before doing this.

It's still in activism but we're no longer able to bump threads to the top of sidebars. I think you should post an updated thread.

Further, It is my understanding that all fundraising must be approved by Jim Rob or the threads get pulled.
The Adams and Bannon cases were worthy exceptions to the rule.
Please add me to the Adams ping list.
The Adams beatings were the reason for the March For Justice.
