I still refer to the 'Cone of Silence' every time we have issues with teleconferencing equipment. :-)
And let's not forget Tennessee Tuxedo, either!

Don Adams was FUNNY! Anyone remember Tennessee Tuxedo?

Tennessee Tuxedo
[9/28/63 - 12/17/66]
Tennesee Tuxedo was introduced on CBS-TV in response to the 1961 speech by FCC Chairman Newton R. Minow which addressed television as a "vaste wasteland". Tennessee, voiced by comedian Don Adams ( who portrayed Maxwell Smart on Get Smart, and later voiced Inspector Gadget ), educated as well as entertained youngsters.

"In 1941, he dropped out of school to join the Marines, lying about his age. In Guadalcanal he survived the deadly blackwater fever and was returned to the States to become a drill instructor, acquiring the clipped delivery that served him well as a comedian."
I never knew that.
RIP Don.

His car was awesome - Sunbeam Tiger The Tiger was like Triumph with a V8. I think they had either a Ford 289 or a Chrysler 318. Don't make em like that anymore.

Sad News. RIP Maxwell Smart. He is going to heaven now, and loving it.
One of my favorite shows of all time and I've been waiting and waiting for them to release it on DVD. Perhaps now they will.

They don't make actors/comedians like him for TV series anymore.
I liked him and will remember him as someone who made my world brighter with his talent.

Actually, it was a Sunbeam Alpine with a Ford 260 in it. The funny thing is, Chrysler bought Sunbeam but they had to continue using the Ford engine for some contractual reasons is what I read.
Drove one once. It had a two barrel carb and the thing flat out flew. Handled reasonably well since the 260/289 is a light engine. The car was a rat trap though, needed restoration and the owner wouldn't think of parting with it.

How obvious can they be?
