Nice to see Jane Fonda in front of camera: W.House
Reuters ^ | January 29, 2007 | Reuters

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - White House spokesman Tony Snow could not resist a good-natured jab at actress Jane Fonda for appearing at an anti-Iraq war protest nearly 35 years after she earned the nickname "Hanoi Jane" for protesting Vietnam.

"You know, I mean, it's nice to see Jane Fonda in front of a camera again," Snow told reporters when asked about the march on Saturday. He did not elaborate.

Fonda, 69, joined tens of thousands of anti-war protest on the National Mall in Washington. In 1972, she made waves by appearing before the cameras as she sat on a North Vietnamese anti-aircraft gun -- an incident she later came to regret.

Snow said it was "perfectly appropriate" for Americans to protest the Iraq war if they desire.

"This is a vigorous democracy," he said.

But he said the protest did not appear to draw the 100,000 people that had been predicted by the event's organizers.

Heres something that will anger my Southern friends here on the FR. My leftist co-worker trying to egg me on in a verbal argument during lunch was praising Fonda's antiwar activism and after doing so asked "who killed more people Jane Fonda or Robert E. Lee? This was followed by him asking "who was the real traitor?" This guy is sick. I need to move to another cubicle or it's going to be a long 2 years to the election.

..."who killed more people Jane Fonda or Robert E. Lee?...

Considering that the count of people killed in Viet Nam after the South was overrun, due in large part to the efforts of Jane Fonda, John Kerry, the Berrigan Brothers, Ramsey Clark, et. al., is nearly 2 million, the proper response to his question is "Jane Fonda, by a long shot".

Actually

http://insidewoodland.com/pictures/trees/barbarella.jpg

Barbarella/Jane was pretty hot in those days.  Her next film was the one to choose to put her out of our misery, and is incredibly appropriate to the topic being discussed:

They Shoot Horses, Don't They? (1969) .... Gloria Beatty

On November 21, 1970 Jane Fonda told a University of Michigan audience of some two thousand students, "If you understood what communism was, you would hope, you would pray on your knees that we would some day become communist." At Duke University in North Carolina she repeated what she had said in Michigan, adding "I, a socialist, think that we should strive toward a socialist society, all the way to communism." John Kerry committed treason when he lied to Congress about observing and committing "war crimes". Yet the traitor was permitted to run for a Presidency he was not allowed to serve.

She should have been tried for treason with Kerry and Kennedy. When they were found guilty, they should have been hung in the Senate Rotunda, and their bodies left there to warn other would be traitors of the reality.

Instead she becomes a Hatriotic with the other anti Nam trash.

"You know, I mean, it's nice to see Jane Fonda in front of a camera again," Snow told reporters when asked about the march on Saturday.

That was a very clever and subtle dig at Fonda.

When I heard her voice from this demonstration, complaining about the 'lies' that were told about her in the Vietnam era, I about vomited. What, she did not go to NVNM and pose with NVA AA crews?

Hanoi Jane: More Socialite than Socialist!

Between shopping in Paris and Rodeo Drive, attending Beverly Hills dinner parties, and getting paid big $$$$ for her performances, when did the poor dear EVER find the time to be a socialist?;)

I have an American cousin who was a 'Wild Weasel Jock'and proud of it, around the time of 'That Picture with her and the NV AA battery'.I was 20 something years old maybe 1967/68. I'm sure you guys will tell me the correct date.

Anyway we previously corresponded with each other in the late 1950s so we could both earn a merit badge in the Boy Scouts.
I met him for the first time in 1996. We emptied a bottle of JD between us and he told me of the horrors. We both tried to understand each other and I hold those stories in my heart as precious and private .

I don't know how the old cow has the effrontery to show her face in public.
Somebody should have fatally defecated down her throat a long time ago.

Notice that they did not show her picture?

They are doing her a favor. Whenever the left wing media shows a pic of Jane Fonda, it's an old out-of-date one.

Kind of like how they shave pounds off of their heroes with Photoshop like Katie Couric.

who killed more people Jane Fonda or Robert E. Lee?

Rachael Carson, by millions.

But Kerry and Fonda did give her a run for the money:

Tony Snow has mastered the art of the double entente and has a large repertoire of facial expressions. [Unusual for such a straight shooter.] These have served him well in todays' age of taking the spoken and written word out of context, especially by the hyper-critical left wing media.
