TRIBUNE-REVIEW Pa. no longer on the horizon By: Salena Zito
It's showtime, folks ... part II.
Welcome to a smaller yet more critically important Super Tuesday. Today has become the focus for the Democrats in a political season that has seen the primary contest maps redrawn in a way no pundit could have ever predicted.
In an interview last week, Democratic National Committee chair Howard Dean told the Tribune-Review that he never would have predicted that the primary season would have gone on this long. In fact, Dean said he thought it would have been decided before the first Super Tuesday on Feb. 5.
"I initially thought that one of the candidates would run the tables early," Dean said, "or that it was going to be decided shortly after the early states."
Dean said it now looks as though Pennsylvania will be the deciding state.

Which way will the dead in Philly vote?
Misleading title.
I’m betting Dim. I’ve never actually been dead, so it’s just an educated guess, though.
This is a BLOG.
“Editorial” is quite a stretch, don’t you think?
Threads based on blog entries are supposed to be put in “Bloggers & Personal.”
Blogpimping in “News/Current Events” is just an exercise in the most vain self-aggrandizement, wouldn’t you agree?
Unfortunately, the dead may vote a lot more this year since Philly’s murder rate is increasing exponentially.
"But she blew it."
Thanks for the forward look Salena. Keep it coming. ;o)
It’s probably because like me, poster couldn’t figure out how to post in anything but “News/Activism” thanks to the screw-ups this weekend on FR.
A blog is a blog.
It’s not screwed up if you know how to use it.
On the right:

“Bloggers & Personal: Topics | Post”
sorry i offended you. my freerepublic page has not looked the same since this weekend.
i am an editorial columnist for RealClearPolitics, Townhall and the Tribune-Review
i am also a reporter covering the elections from just about every state.
and yes i “blog” but i would argue that my ‘blogs’ are not personal opines, but fact based reporting with interviews to back up what is written
have a groovy primary day
I live in SW Pa, and even with my Dhi(u)mmy friends ... I can't read their leanings .. other than ... no one seems to know WHICH way to go.
And your shift key does not work either. ;)
yeah i am on my blackberry and i am too old to figure out how to cap something :)
not sure what u read, but he did say it in one of my stories last week. quite frankly love him or hate him rendell will probably deliver pa
Wasn’t that X42?
Which dim though? It's a lot of pressure to put on dead people.
Sorry, that’s BRAND NEW. Some of us know something happened to FR, but don’t know what, and don’t know where to look, and miss it. Sorry we’re not all geniuses who read the minds of webmasters who change things, nor can see all the changes on a page filled with words.
FR IS screwed up and has always been user-unfriendly; “if you know how to use it” proves that point. Never mind brand-new changes that are also user-unfriendly just by dint of not being explained anywhere on a home page.
What's Monica got to do with any of this?
groovy?
LOL!
You must not be a cool cat.
Can’t find the exit?
Dang I was so looking forward to the non stop commercials. lol.
If you posted it here .. then that’s prolly where I read it.
it is happy word. funny when i was interviewing karl rove on sunday and used it he laughed and said he used it all the time as well... i figure i will give it a whirl and
re-introduce it to american slang, where it will promptly die :)
Ouch.
thanks for sticking up for the idiots of this world, i was completely confused by how fr has looked since this weekend, i suppose nall of us cannot not be as brilliant as petronski
:)
You’re not the only one, and there are still a couple of changes I’m not happy with.
Hell, GB .. all I've done all winter is try to stay warm ... I'm the coolest ... the kewlest, and hip, too.
(Wellll ... I was in 1967/68)
Yeah. By hook or by crook.
Gov. Rendell is a strong Hillary supporter. Obama might have reason to worry about PA. But, then, I don’t know how popular Rendell is in his home state.
Anybody know what impact he might have?
I give you, my very own: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/1980203/posts
I think he’s not much liked by many. My husband is from central PA (literally) and his mom (a Dem) indicates neither she nor many others are too awed by his governing.
Press and hold the letter.
"But she blew it."
Was monica driving BJ's SUV?
I read that headline and MEANT to make a biting comment about disenfranchisement, thank you so very much, and how I will defiantly cast a vote in the primary anyway...and then the first sentence in the story kind of nixed that idea. Odd headline, considering the content.
doesnt always work, i think i have dropped it way too many times :)
he has a huge impact on the elected officals and voters
Good bona fides. Glad to have you as a member. I would still point out that the headline is a bit misleading, though.
fair enough :)
I also live in PA. The libs will vote what the unions tell them to. Fast Eddie says Hillary. They will vote Hillary.
Most PA residents are too awed by his governing, but this is Pennsylvania. Most PA voters are like union automatons. They will vote the way their Overseers tell them too.
PA belongs to Hillary. With 63% retired, Hillary wins.
Democratic National Committee chair Howard Dean told the Tribune-Review... "I initially thought that one of the candidates would run the tables early," Dean said, "or that it was going to be decided shortly after the early states." Dean said it now looks as though Pennsylvania will be the deciding state.Hillary and Obama will be on the same ticket, in that order.
PA is a CLOSED primary. This is precisely why I am still a Dem. GO Hillary!
The way Fast Eddie Rendell wants it to.
For Hillary.
