Dozens of people were wounded on Wednesday evening, including a baby girl, when a rocket fired from Gaza hit the Hutzot Shopping Center in Ashkelon.
The rocket hit the top floor of the building.
Several people were reportedly trapped in the rubble.
The attack came as Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and US President George W. Bush concluded their meeting in Jerusalem.
Warning! This is a high-volume ping list.

There cannot be peace with a nation which is shelling you with artillery. Duh?
The real world experienced by common folk is calling, Madame Secretary, but you're on too high a level to hear it. I don't think you even hear the explosions and shrieks of agony.

Why isn’t Israel retaliating against the PA civilians. No need to send in IDF troops risking casualties. How about a small team of Mossad agents planting a car bomb in a PA market and let it detonate. If the PA must fire thousands of rockets to kill a small number of Isrealis, the Mossad using more precision weapons (ala carbomb) can kill thousands of PA civilians at substantially lesser cost and resources. How long can Gaza survive if for every Jew killied in a rocket attack they lose hundreds of civilians in retaliatory carbombs?
Yep. Those Palestinian children and babies deserve to die.

No big deal, just the Peace Partner welcoming President Bush to Israel.
If Israel would only draw a map, things like this wouldn't happen.
Palestinians would become peaceful folk, businessmen and the like.
And thanks, Peanut Carter.
This again shows the utter idiocy of Sharon’s “disengagement” from Gaza.
JPost changed the headline after I posted it.
hard to believe Israel is actually considering a cease-fire with these guys.
Condi and Bush will soon issue strongly worded statements that Israel must show “restraint” and make even more “painful concessions” to the “peace process” can continue and have a “palestinian state” before January 2009. Can’t have these pesky attacks on Israeli civilians stop that all so important “peace process” and that little ole “legacy” they want so damn-@ss bad before they leave office.

Fox news reporting “type of rocket made in Iran, not typical ‘home made rocket’”
hearing 3 of the injuries are severe. up to 14 wounded. This could force Olmert’s hand
Ok, thanks.
Good thing it didn’t have a snuke attached.
What's even worse is the idea that Olmert might actually give them back the Golan Heights and the Gaza Strip. Especially the Heights. What's the first rule of defensive war? Make sure you're capable of defending from the high ground. Who forgot this critical point and got their butts kicked? The French at Dien Bien Phu. There was a lesson there for the Israelis and I think they missed it.
Because the Israeli’s are not animals...
Giving back the Golan would be a major no-no from a tactical point of view. I don’t think it really changes the strategic situation though b/c the IDF would make quick work of the Syrian army if they tried anything, not to mention i seriously doubt Olmert would give up the Golan without conditioning it on the Golan being demilitarized.
Happy Nakba Day to all the liberals who have been running around wearing palestinian headscarfs this week!
Heads up, Bush about to make a statement RE: missle attack.
Will reporters track down that POS Jimmy Carter and ask him how his appeasement of Hamas is working out??
I didn’t think so......
Dear Dr. Rice:
In light of this news, is it acceptable to once again use the term, “murdering terrorists”? Is a rocket attack on innocent shoppers to be construed as “jihad”? What do you call these people now?
With all the meaningless BS put forth by your State Dept. in the last months, I have not had time to memorize the new list of unacceptable terms for the scum of the earth. There are limits to everything, Dr. Rice, and my patience with your abysmal performance has reached it’s limits. Please resign before your peace process gets more innocent people killed. BTW, I used to be your biggest fan before you bent over for the murdering terrorist jihad. Oops, so sorry!
Signed,
STILL NOT OVER 9/11 and NEVER WILL BE
Imagine if it were the other way around and the U.S. is the one being lectured about “restraint”, blah, blah, blah.
Just let the Israelis do what they need to do!
Here’s a Middle East Peace Plan that might work:
1. No foreign aid at all allowed into the Pali areas as long as such attacks occur.
2. Once there have been no attacks for 3 months, humanitarian aid (food, water, etc.) is allowed in.
3. Once there have been no attacks for 6 months, some monetary aid will be CONSIDERED.
4. Any governmental body that holds as a central tenet that Israel should not exist is completely disallowed from receiving any aid whatsoever - including any people under their control.
5. Any territory used to launch a rocket attack immediately becomes a free-fire artillery range for 30 minutes.
"The Runaway Penis" surpassed "Imaginationland" IMO
you’re right... First drop leaflets and give them 30 mins to evacuate before isreal creates a chemical buffer zone to protect their truely innocent women and children from the terrorism that the palis actively support and teach their children to embrace.

Israeli paramedics carry a wounded woman on a stretcher from a mall after it was hit by a rocket fired by Palestinian militants in Gaza, in the city of Ashkelon, southern Israel, Wednesday, May 14, 2008. A rocket fired from Gaza exploded in a shopping center in the southern Israeli city of Ashkelon on Wednesday, wounding at least 14 people, rescue officials said, just as Israel's leader was discussing the violence with visiting U.S. President George W. Bush and threatening large-scale retaliation. The rocket ripped through the roof of the mall, causing a large chunk of the roof to collapse in a huge pile of rubble and twisted metal. Four windows were blown out of the side of the building. (AP Photo/Gadi Kabalo)

Neah.
Cut off power, water, and access (including food and medical care) to the entire Gaza strip. Permanently. Blow the pipes, cut the wires, and wall up the gates into Gaza. Let the Palis get what they need from Egypt or die in their own filth.
They grow up:
“Altogether, Ishmael lived a hundred and thirty-seven years. He breathed his last and died, and he was gathered to his people. 18 His descendants settled in the area from Havilah to Shur, near the border of Egypt, as you go toward Asshur. And they lived in hostility toward [c] all their brothers.”
Yes, give the terrorists fair warning to evacuate. After all, world opinion is more important than Israeli lives. Maybe they’ll finally like us when we’re dead.
Are you man enough to say Palestinian babies and children should be killed with gas or are you just bluffing?
Yeah -but if so, it will only be to show the fact that he is a servant of the devil, and is not a protector of Israel’s interests, and survival.
That’s what I would do. A bomb in Israel means a deadlier bomb in Palestine. Immediately, so there is no guessing as to why a bomb went off. I’d prefer to take a swath of land for every rocket, though. That way we get land & push out Palestinians at the same time. But dead Jews must be avenged with blood.
Wehn Israel gives it’s enemies hell, then and only then will there be peace. That’s the only way peace will be established.
The tyrants hide behind their women and babies, wanting them to be killed; so the only option is for Israel to give them their heart’s desire and take them all out and do so as as oft as it needs to be done. Then there will be peace for Israel -and for the tyrants women and babies.
-oh, to be a fly on the wall
Bush, Rice Meeting with Olmert, Livni. Barak and IDF
http://www.israelnationalnews.com/Ne...sh.aspx/146548
(IsraelNN.com) American President George W. Bush is meeting at this hour with senior government officials and IDF Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi. Iran is one of the major topics on the agenda, and the president agreed with an earlier statement by President Shimon Peres that Israel cannot allow Iran to become a nuclear power.
Participating in the meeting are Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, Defense Minister Ehud Barak, Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni and Lt. Gen. Ashkenazi.
Well, the brave men like to hide behind them for human shields.
Depends, really.
I have been in the hospital in Israel for a week, standing beside the bed of my nephew. My nephew was injured while escorting an aid truck to Gaza. (He is in the IDF.)
Last week, I would have dropped the bombs myself.
This week, he is up and about.
It is pointless dealing with them. They are savages.
I didn’t even know President Bush was in Israel. Did he just get there?
Ain’t that the truth!
I know. I’ve been calling them snukes ever since. That’s short for uh... “suitcase nuke” for those who are not in the know.
Thank you.
He’s been in the hospital for the better part of a month.
He had pnemonia last week and it did not look good, but it cleared up for now, and it looks pretty good.
He’s from Athens, Texas and just went and joined up.
