Forgot to note that 7.5% (576 anti-hispanic incidents of 7,722) is about half the rate of the hispanic population, about 15% per the 2000 census, which doesn't include illegals.

If it comes out of Obama's mouth, it's worth checking.

Even if your overall point is valid: Doing so by these flagrant misquotes from published and easily accessible text is disgusting.

That quote is a quote of Cone's. It is attributed to him in "Divine Racism: The Unacknowledged Threshold Issue for Black Theology", in African-American Religious Thought: An Anthology, by William R Jones, ed Cornel West and Eddie Glaube (Westminster John Knox Press).

I mistakenling attributed it to the book, A Black Theology for Liberation, wherein Cone makes a similar quote from which you quoted, and now have corrected that oversite on my site.

But the quote is real and is from Cone...and it is not me who is disgusting in the least, but author and the theology itself which so perverts the love of Christ into such a thing of hate, vengence, bigotry, and intolerance...the very antithesis of what Christ taught.

It would seem to me that the quote - taken from Cone’s own book, would be a better source for Cone, than someone else’s book purporting to quote the same text.....
