President Bush is scheduled to stop in Houston to help raise money for Democratic U.S. Rep. Nick Lampson's opponent and the Republican Party's statewide campaign for the Nov. 4 election.
Bush will be the featured guest at a July 18 fundraising luncheon at the River Oaks home of former energy pipeline executive Dan Tutcher, according to an invitation sent to potential donors.

LOL!!! God ol'liberal Houston Chronicle! Notice they mention who Bush is trying to raise money to campaign against -- a Democrat -- but don't mention the Republican who is having the fund raiser.
He’d help him more by just raising the money in private and staying home.
There are some Americans who, remembering 9/11 and considering the dearth of recent terrorist attacks on our soil, still feel like our President is doing a good job.
There'll be enough of those on-hand in Houston to raise plenty of money for the Texas GOP.
Not in Houston he wouldn't. This is GWB Country!
This will make about $8.75 for the RNC.
Look at Bush’s ratings - the lowest in history for any President. Look at Congress’ ratings - also abyssmally low.
Look at the economy.
Look at the polling data for a no-account, nobody socialist from Illinois with an Islamic sounding name whose only mantra is “Change” and compare them with the polling data for a genuine American hero running against him.
Unfortunately or not, the rest of America isn’t Texas - and I’m sure there a passel of Texans who have had it with hot and cold running illegal aliens swarming across their borders, courtesy of Jorge El Segundo.
You dropped a few zeros off of that.
Just getting into the event will cost a minimum of $5000.
Hmmmmm.
How far from the border in Texas is Houston?
Well I take it you will be “round filing” your invitation to this fiesta then? ;)
Huh?
I am sure you can get that information quite easily on the Internet.
About 300 miles south of it now.
Don’t live there. Would contribute to the Republican and cote for him, but have no great need to see Bush at all.
He should visit Ramos and Compean.
Hmm.
About ten to 15 days walk for the average illegal invader.
Read my post again. Sometimes I'm too subtle for my own good.
There are a great many Houston Republicans that love President Bush. He is very welcome here, more so than even John McCain.
It’s getting hard to even visit Free Republic any more, and the replies to this post are a good example why.
What negative nonsense.
We’ve had a President who has led us through 8 very difficult years, bad guys around the globe plotting to do us in, Dems still angry over losing in 2000, narcissitic Congress without backbone enough to harvest black gold from a wilderness, and a dumbed-down society that has no sense of history.
Yet, until the last few months, we’ve enjoyed a spectacular economy and relative peace — God bless our troops who’ve deflected terrorist intentions while we live safe.
Believe it or not, the Presidency isn’t a job with a magic wand, and there’s just so much any one man can do. And no President has been or ever will be perfect.
Some of you will be bellyaching in heaven.
So shut up your griping and realize that if you don’t get up off your butts and start fighting, you’re going to let the ignorant masses put a Marxist in the White House come January.
Help Bush instead of being a dead weight. Support GOP congressional candidates. Be a part of the solution, OK?

You're talking to the wrong constituency, amigo.
HAHAHAHAHA!
Muchos gracias Jorge El Segundo!!
HAHAHAHAHA!
Muchas gracias Jorge El Segundo!!
Neither one is high on my hit parade - I’m a conservative who votes as a Republican, not a Republican who is forced to accept conservativism.
Houston has been W's home!
Yes, the “barnicle” has done it again...
...And they wonder why circulation is dropping at the glide angle of an anvil.
The fine fellow running against the worthless ‘rat is named Pete Olsen (http://www.olsonforcongress.com/). He should do well in that district!
>> Not in Houston he wouldn’t. This is GWB Country!
God Bless Texas! We are the Alamo of sanity in this world ... we’re surrounded, but we’re really good shots.
H
The only State gluing the rest of the country together.
Even that raving leftist ANNE COULTER gets it . . . what’s your problem?!
BUSH’S AMERICA: 100 PERCENT AL-QAIDA FREE SINCE 2001
By Anne Coulter
. . . I generally don’t write columns about the manifestly obvious, but, yes, the man responsible for keeping Americans safe from another terrorist attack on American soil for nearly seven years now will go down in history as one of America’s greatest presidents.

GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT
The President’s ratings are NOT the lowest for any President in history . . . That distinction goes to Harry Truman.
BTW: Comparing today’s polls, including those conducted by Gallup, with those conducted in yesteryear is pointless. Today’s pollsters are ‘owned’ subsidiaries of the MSM:
Gallup is ‘owned’ by USAToday
Zogby is ‘owned’ by Reuters
IpsosReid is ‘owned’ by the AP
NBCNews ‘owns’ the pollsters for the WallStreetJournal
ABCNews ‘owns’ the pollsters for the WashingtonPost
and on and on [Always remember: IT’S THE SAMPLE STUPID!]
The only independent pollster*, The BattleGround Poll, is also the only polling organizaiton that still measures a president’s PERSONAL APPROVAL RATING — the rating that Republicans often cited to verify that Reagan was a ‘popular’ president even though his job approval ratings were often subpar. According to the most recent BG poll, the President’s personal approval rating is still approximately 60% (Clinton’s PA never got above the 40th percentile — which is why he never earned 50% of the vote)!
*Rasmussen is often referred to as an independent pollster; however, no one seems to know who actually funds his research.

WHAT’S WITH THE HYPOCRISY?
At the same time you laud McCain as a genuine American hero (which he is), you insult the President for his support of comprehensive immigration reform . . . Didn’t McCain just indicate that he planned to pass a comprehensive immigration plan during his first 100 days in office?! [FYI: President Bush has done more to secure the Mexican border than any President in modern history, including the retrospectively sainted Ronald Reagan.]
I invite you to read my post at #27!
I couldn’t agree more with your post!! [I invite you to read my post at #27!]
Bush takes office in 2001 - There are 6 state sponsors of terror: N. Korea, Libya, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Iran. Bush leaves office in 2009 - There are only 2 states sponsors of terror: Syria, Iran.
1) During the Bush Administration Libya gives up its nuclear weapons program.
2) During the Bush Administration the black market from Pakistan led by A.Q.Khan for nuclear weapons technology is broken up.
3) During the Bush Administration North Korea begins dismantling their plutonium enrichment reactors.
4) During the Bush Administration Israel and the U.S.A. destroy Syria's nuclear weapons enrichment reactors.
5) During the Bush Administration, Saddam Hussein who said quite clearly while in jail awaiting his trial that he would have had the U.N. sanctions broken and be in full production of WMDs within a year. That would be the years 2004 - 2005 approximately that Saddam would have been re-armed with WMDs. It now goes without saying the obvious that Saddam will not be getting nuclear weapons anytime soon. Nor will he be directly funding and training the terror group 'Islamic Jihad' which is al-Qaeda and whom blew up two U.S. embassies. (see the recent: Iraqi Perspectives Project).
6) During the Bush Administration the U.S.A. has nuclear weapon ambitious Iran pinned in on both sides from Afghanistan and Iraq which is pure strategic genius.
Under Clinton the countries Pakistan and India successfully test nuclear weapons and North Korea begins plutonium enrichment.
If YOU think Ann Coulter is a leftist, I don't have the problem.
Bush has kept America free of a terrorist attack. That's not an issue I have a problem with him over. Personally, considering how porous Bush has allowed our southern border to become, thats pretty remarkable.
If you think the polls are inaccurate about Bush, wait until the election. When a President is not running for office, the standard bearer of his party is running on the former President's record.
“you insult the President for his support of comprehensive immigration reform . .”
Jorge's idea of “comprehensive immigration reform” is the following:
Opposing making English the official language of the U.S.
Pandering to Mexico on a host of domestic American issues such as the PERSECUTION of Ramos and Compean.
Refusing to enforce the law of the land by ignoring existing immigration laws
Conspiring with Mexico and the employers of cheap labor to steal jobs from American citizens.
Rewarding illegal invaders with employment, benefits, jobs and a push ahead in the waiting line for citizenship
Trying to foist a phony “temporary worker” program on us which is, in effect, a “rent a slave” project to benefit certain employers. It will create a climate of class and ethnic hatred and result in serious domestic discord.
McCain is a problem with respect to the borders too. But OVERALL, when you compare McCain and Obama - the only two choices available -its a no brainer.
“President Bush has done more to secure the Mexican border than any President in modern history, “
When does “modern” history begin in your book? Eisenhower gave shoot to kill orders to border guards when he was president.
George Bush gave us ONE conservative justice on the Supreme Court. The American People gave us the Second when public outrage forced him to abandon his personal buddy Harriet Miers.
George Bush tried to foist off on the American Pubic the Dubai Port Scam
George Bush selected too many losers in his administrative staff or even retained baggage from Clinton's despicable reign - e.g. Gonzales, Minetta, that horse-breeder he put in charge of FEMA, etc.
George Bush has sat still until relatively recently while energy prices wrecked the economy without offering alternative ideas, or attacking the Dems in Congress for their obstruction.
George Bush got us involved in a protracted occupation of Iraq, one we can't afford to pull out of, when he should have focused our military efforts on destroying governments which were a threat to us.
George Bush came up with a flawed program for an antimissile system for Europe whose only function was to further irritate the Russians - who we NEED for the war on Islam - and drive them into the arms of the Red Chinese.
George Bush has bent over backwards to accommodate the Communist Red Chinese on national trade resulting in the importation of dangerous, flawed products, medicine and consumables to the U.S while destroying our trade balance.
In short this President has presided over the economic wreckage of what was once a great nation.
Personally, I have come to believe he not only a flawed President and a man of lower than average intelligence, but a card carrying member of the Limousine Liberal wing of the Republican Party.
I wasn’t aware that by criticizing Bush I was praising his friend Bill Clinton.
See my recent post on Jorge El Segundo.
And I think your praise of Bush II has been a little ....
DRAMATIC and bends reality a bit.
I stated facts. If you don't think so then by all means point something specific out that I wrote and we can discuss it.
Since 2001 President Bush has pushed for domestic exploration, refineries on old military bases, and nuclear energy!
You are dishonest, Sir! Or ill informed with a knack for whining.
Even that raving leftist ANNE COULTER gets it . . . whats your problem?!
If YOU think Ann Coulter is a leftist, I don’t have the problem.”

WOW . . . If you are unable to recognize IN YOUR FACE SARCASM, there really is very little hope for rational discussion.
See my last post.
Bush takes office in 2001
- There are 6 state sponsors of terror: N. Korea, Libya,
Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Iran.
Bush leaves office in 2009
“- There are only 2 states sponsors of terror: Syria, Iran.”
Afghanistan is gone but still fighting, N. Korea, as
usual, is playing games, Libya is still a threat and
more so than before due to our failure to take out Syria
and Iran. And you failed to mention that incubator of
anti-western hatred in your list - Wahhabist Saudi
Arabia who spawned some of the terrorists in the World
Trade Center Attack and continues to bankroll anti-
American mosques and madrassehs in the U.S.
“During the Bush Administration the black market from Pakistan led by A.Q.Khan for nuclear weapons technology is broken up.”
Pakistan remains a serious problem, probaly continuing to provide sanctuary to Bin Laddin, and continuing to be a site of anti-western, pro-Islamic terrorists. (By the way, they did a GREAT job with the Benazir Bhutto episode, didn’t they?)
“During the Bush Administration North Korea begins dismantling their plutonium enrichment reactors.”
North Korea has been playing these games for years. They will continue to do so. I’m not impressed. Come back in 5 years.
“During the Bush Administration Israel and the U.S.A. destroy Syria’s nuclear weapons enrichment reactors.”
????????????? During the Bush Administration, the Israelis and Bush fail to take out the terrorist cornered in southern Palestine. They survive and go on to kill more Americans and Israelis.
“During the Bush Administration, Saddam Hussein who said quite clearly while in jail awaiting his trial that he would have had the U.N. sanctions broken and be in full production of WMDs within a year. That would be the years 2004 - 2005 approximately that Saddam would have been re-armed with WMDs. It now goes without saying the obvious that Saddam will not be getting nuclear weapons anytime soon. Nor will he be directly funding and training the terror group ‘Islamic Jihad’ which is al-Qaeda and whom blew up two U.S. embassies. (see the recent: Iraqi Perspectives Project). “
O.K. Score two for Bush.
“During the Bush Administration the U.S.A. has nuclear weapon ambitious Iran pinned in on both sides from Afghanistan and Iraq which is pure strategic genius. “
No. Genius would have been taking out Iran out initially from both sides while Iranian students were rioting after our invasion of Iraq. At this point, the Muslims think Bush and the U.S. are paper tigers.
“Under Clinton the countries Pakistan and India successfully test nuclear weapons and North Korea begins plutonium enrichment. “
So what? Am I defending that idiot?
Until RECENTLY Bush’s “pushing” has hardly been evident.
Thank you!
Voices of reason must speak out.
Sorry you worked so hard on your misinformation.
The U.S.State Department has removed the countries that I named from the list of state sponsors of terrorism.
Your “emotional opinion” matters zero in this regard in the face of facts.
“WOW . . . If you are unable to recognize IN YOUR FACE SARCASM, there really is very little hope for rational discussion.”
That’s a pretty easy flip-off.
To you perhaps, but that's your fault, not his.
“The U.S.State Department has removed the countries that I named from the list of state sponsors of terrorism.”
They HAVE???
Oh, PARDON ME!!
We can ALWAYS trust the U.S. STATE DEPARTMENT.
Yes. Next question?
Bush enters office there are 6 state sponsors of terrorism. Bush leaves office there are only 2 state sponsors of terrorism.
That's a damn fine record! THANK YOU GWB!
“That’s a pretty easy flip-off”

Consider yourself ‘flipped off’.
[After reading your list of ‘grievances’, the reason for your irrationality has suddenly become clear: You’re a Paulite (or at the very least a Buchannanite and/or Wienerphile) . . . ‘nuf said.]
Millions of Amens to your post.
For those of you fretting over the MSM's "polls", I caution you that you are wasting your time. I firmly believe that there still aren't enough Americans who will pull the lever for a scary guy like Osama Obama Yo-mamma Hussein.
McClain surely wasn't my first choice, but unless something unforeseen happens between now and the election, I believe he will be the next POTUS. I also believe we can live quite comfortably with him.
Paulite? Etc???
George Bush has betrayed the conservative wing of the Republican Party. He has betrayed the Republican Party rank and file. He helped put John McCain in the nomination spotlight and he may very well help put Obama in the White House. Many conservatives were justifiably leery of this guy after his father’s antics. Their suspicions were fully justified.
I for one will never vote for another Bush again. They are counterfeit conservatives.
You should really be saying that in Spanish.
Muchas Gracis Jorge El Segundo, El Gringo de Mexico.
Avoiding facts again with your stupid posts!
Its kind of hard to figure out what His Inarticulateness means at times, but I regularly read this forum, listen to conservtive talk radio and watch Fox news.
Jorge has NOT been a vocal supporter of oil drilling in America until fairly recently. And if I’m not mistaken, it was Jorge El Primero who issued the original Presidental order banning off shore drilling in America. SOOOO, if it was originally banned through executive order, why the need for the postitutes in Congress to allow it now?
It will be interesting to see how much affection you have for this individual if his low ratings with the public help put that socialist Democrat Obama in the White House in November. McCain is far from the ideal candidate - he was LAST on my list - but he would have a better chance if Jorge El Segundo’s performance in office was better and his ratings were not at an historical low.
