So you’re saying a Rhode Island ferry and Coast Guard vessel collided?

I’ve ridden the BI Ferry many times but not the newer hydrofoils. Prayers up for passengers and crew!

Odd, seems like conditions are severe clear and the ocean is relatively calm.

Coast Guard in Pt. Judith probably already on the scene. I hope all are okay.

Hey... Morro Bay... isn’t that the one in Yorktown?
If it is, then I’ve been out on that boat. We used it for underway training at QM “A” School. It’s a nifty little icebreaking tug.

According to the link everyone is ok....a fender bender. After the passengers are checked over by their lawyers that might change though.

Even a fender bender will cashier a couple of Captains though. No injuries thank goodness but probably a couple of careers went down to the bottom.

Tonk give your CG brothers a guiding hand from above to save those souls. I don't think the Commander upstairs would object.
Prayers up for all the souls in peril to to saved.
Eternal Father
Eternal Father, strong to save,
Whose arm hath bound the restless wave,
Who biddest the mighty ocean deep
Its own appointed limits keep;
Oh, hear us when we cry to Thee,
For those in peril on the sea!
O Christ! Whose voice the waters heard
And hushed their raging at Thy Word,
Who walked on the foaming deep,
And calm amidst its rage didst sleep;
Oh, hear us when we cry to Thee,
For those in peril on the sea!
Most Holy Spirit! Who didst brood
Upon the chaos dark and rude,
And bid its angry tumult cease,
And give, for wild confusion, peace;
Oh, hear us when we cry to Thee,
For those in peril on the sea!
O Trinity of love and power!
Our family shield in dangers hour;
From rock and tempest, fire and foe,
Protect us wheresoever we go;
Thus evermore shall rise to Thee
Glad hymns of praise from land and sea.

After seeing this elderly cutter, I imagine it was run-down from behind...

Well, when I was on it, it was brand-spankin’ new. Though since its a tug... It was never fast. :-)
