A new report shows voters are interested in the position Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama takes on abortion. The Internet traffic monitoring firm HitWise indicates abortion is now the number one political issue voters are looking for when they conduct a search on Obamas campaign web site.
Hitwise analyzed the top 200 U.S. search terms that sent visits to the presidential candidates websites for the first half of 2008, revealing the types of content searched for the most among Internet users.
Issues like education, the environment, health care and immigration are important to visitors on Obamas web site, but HitWise says abortion tops them all.
In the first quarter of 2008, abortion came in as the number two most important issue on the minds of voters looking to Obamas web site to learn more about him. As news of Obamas pro-abortion position has filtered throughout the nation, the abortion search term moved up to the top spot over the last three months.
McCains pro-life position on abortion must be more clear to voters as abortion came in as the third most important issue in searches on his web site in the first quarter but slipped out of the top five in the second quarter.
Heather Dougherty, research director for HitWise, says the topics that voters put in searches on the candidate web sites, give an indication of what political issues are most prominent on their minds.
This has implications for what content should be featured on the candidates websites, and broadly across all communications with voters, she said.
With Obama as a newer candidate with a surge in interest and popularity, his campaign web site receives 79.25 percent of online visits when compared with the traffic of the McCain site. But Hitwise shows McCains web site is increasing in traffic as he moved from 14.62 percent in May.
This represents a seven percent increase compared to May 2008 and a five percent increase over April 2008 traffic McCains web site received.
McCains web site is also receiving more traffic from new visitors than Obamas. In June 2008, Barack Obamas website received 55 percent of its visits from returning visitors and 45 percent from new visitors. McCains website received 21 percent of its visits from returning visits and 79 percent from new visitors.
Among all U.S. websites, both candidates saw increases in visits as Obamas website increased 1,367 percent and McCains website increased 2200 percent compared to June 2007.
His position??
Standing and applauding as helpless babies are torn from the womb and murdered.
If they are interested on his position on abortion, well he approves of the killing of innocent babies even after they are born.
People might also be interested then on his position on Bisexuality and Larry Sinclair.
Well, he doesn’t want his daughter to be burdened with a baby.

“....he approves of the killing of innocent babies even after they are born.”
Obama LED the opposition to a bill that would have ensured that a baby who survived an abortion be given medical care. He was the LEADER of this opposition. In my opinion, this demonstrates Senator Obama’s complete lack of foundational moral principle. If he can be so immoral in THIS area, he will be immoral in others as well. No solid foundational principles.....
Alas, he's far from alone in being brainwashed that securing "a woman's right to choose" takes precedence over every other issue. ...despite the fact that, in contrast to the other issues I mentioned above, "a woman's right to choose" doesn't directly affect him personally. Guess he gave it some thought, because he just recently informed me he'll be voting Republican for the first time in his life in Nov.
I'm convinced that the only issue keeping countless voters on the Democrat plantation is the abortion issue.
I don’t understand why there isn’t a single MSM reporter who puts Obama’s record in perpective.
Mr Obama, yes or no:
1 ARe you for reparations to blacks for the financial losses incurred due to slavery?
2. ARe you for hand gun control in Chicago?
3. ARe you for late term abortion?
4. ARE you for higher corporate taxes?
5. ARe you for off shore drilling?
6. Are you for putting a hold on space exploration?
etc
More than 50% of UAW autoworkers now vote Republican and that is their major reason.
In partial birth abortion, the baby is pulled partially from the birth canal, and an instument is inserted into its skull to suck out its brain.
Obama voted against any sort of medical or any other help for those babies who survived abortion, but to ‘shelve’ them and leave them to die unaided.
Just because people are “interested” in his position and check out the site, doesn’t mean they “approve.”
Says a lot about the dim party. The most important issue to them is keeping it legal to execute babies.
The phrase was actually 'punished with a baby'.
I find it interesting to note that Obama is FOR killing innocent infants....but against war. Hmmmmmmm.....
keep helping out those search engines folks!
Obama abortion.
Obama infanticide.
Barak Obama dead babies.
Barak Obama supports infanticide.
Thanks. I stand corrected. I tried to find an FR thread. It may have helped if I used “punished with a baby”.

Yep. Of course they’ve been successfully brainwashed by the far-left activist loons that abortion isn’t execution, and that life doesn’t begin at conception. In my view the best way to counter this fatally flawed view is by showing them just how human babies in the womb are. Having children themselves often does the trick.
“despite the fact that, in contrast to the other issues I mentioned above, “a woman’s right to choose” doesn’t directly affect him personally.”
It does affect him personally though. Well maybe not directly if he’s not at a point in his life where his significant other will be faced with the choice of aborting his child, but for men in general, abortion definitely affects them personally. When their children are killed without them being able to do anything to protect them, which is arguably a father’s greatest instinct, they are affected. On the other side, when they get someone pregnant and she insists she’s having the baby and he has to pay child support, he’s affected (though not nearly as devestated; I haven’t heard of men killing themselves because they had to pay child support, but maybe I’m just not looking hard enough).
I have encountered plenty of pro-choice men, and mostly younger men. Some think it will make them look enlightened and get them dates. Some don’t want to take responsibility when they have sex and get someone pregnant. Some genuinely buy into the pro-choice line. And then there are those who mistakingly believe that they have no say because they can’t get pregnant. “It’s a women’s issue.” No. It’s a human rights issue that has deep societal ramnifications and affects everyone, regardless of gender.
No doubt — the Left’s sustained attack on the 2A has brought a lot of folks over to the GOP in recent years. Seems an increasing number of citizens are now aware of their 2A rights.
Or left to die once born. He's a monster who will bring CHANGE. There's no doubt about that.

Interesting that Democrats value murdering babies in the womb above everything else. How could any religious person vote for that?
That sounds like hopeful news. If they care about it enough to look it up, then maybe once they find out he supports abortion it will make them reject him. I hope McCain is planning on making a lot of noise about abortion during the campaign since it is one of the few positions where he has been consistently conservative and different than Obama so it will give people a clear choice.

Although McCain's thinking is about stem-cell research is mistaken and confused, when it came time to adopt the Indian baby from the orphanage what did he do? I am fully aware of McCain's shortcomings, but whatever you think of the McCains, to adopt that child the way they did is pro-life.
I should add that many in the pro-life movement are Catholics. One should not forget that Cindy McCain received that child from one of Mother Theresa's orphanages. If this fact were more widely known it would certainly win some votes among Catholics, who pretty much compose the proverbial "swing vote."
BTW, are there not some pics of Cindy McCain with Mother Theresa? Putting them out there would be smaltzy and a little manipulative, but they certainly would present a great contrast to the O-man's spiritual mentors: Mother Theresa vs Pastor "G-D America" Wright. McCain would probably think it's undignified, but the sooner he realizes he's in for a fight the better. This is a presidential election, so no more "above the fray" BS. Putting out a pic of Cindy and Mother Theresa would be a little manipulative, but it would also point out a substantive difference between the candidates. That would be completely fair.
It's not just that Obama is pro-abortion. If some poor wretched creature survives the abortion attempt, Obama would still allow you to "off" it. That is so sickening, I can't imagine that anyone could allow it. Yet Obama would. You would think some sort of instinct would kick in to save an abortion survivor, but not in Obama's case.
When you look at the range of issues and attitudes they support, it's the Obamas whose souls are sick, not America's. If they want to "cure America's soul," let them cure themselves first.
very clever idea..
Something that can fill time during those boring conference calls!!!
Nice to “see” you again, LL. Hope all is well with you.
Jill Stanek lays out very well how Obama first said he didn't think the born-alive infant met the 14th Amendment's qualifications as a "person" in the Constitutional sense of the word (what qualifications??) and then he changed his tune and said he would have "supported the Born-Alive Infant Act in Illinois if it had had the same provisions as the Federal Act, which stated that it would not impact Roe vs Wade."
First of all, when the Act was re-introduced into the IL legislature in a form identical to the Federal act, he blocked it from being voted upon, and furthermore, there was nothing, no clause or disclaimer of codicil, in the Federal act that stated that it would have no impact on Roe vs Wade.
Yet even Barbara Boxer, a reliable abortion enthusiast, voted in favor of the Born Alive Infants Act.
Obama is glib. But if you follow his position, he gives you whiplash.
