Pray for President Bush -- Day 2850

For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body.

Philippians 1:19,20

“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” (2 Cor. 3:17) Father, we are so very grateful for this country that You have established. You motivated Your servants to find the land, to set up a system of Government based on Your principles, and to bring Your Word—the Word of truth and liberty—to a people unenlightened concerning Your love. Thank You for true Liberty.

We pray in obedience to Your Word today for President Bush, knowing that as we pray according to Your will, You hear us and we know that we have the requests we have asked of You. We pray that the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ will bring about his complete salvation—spirit, soul and body. Through Your Spirit, strengthen him with might, give him the mind of Christ and the Spirit of Truth, enlighten his eyes to know all that is his through You, order his steps and fill his mouth with Your utterances. Angels, we charge you to guard him and his family and staff in all their ways of service. Thank You. We believe we receive.

Keep our precious troops under the shadow of Your wings. Open the eyes of the leaders to see the plans of the enemy beforehand. Provide for their every physical, spiritual and social need and guide each one into Your perfect will for his life. Thank You, Father, for blessing them for their service to us.

We receive by faith in Your Word an outpouring of Your Spirit on all flesh. With Your Spirit, we yearn for the lost to find You, their eternal home. Draw them out of the kingdom of darkness and translate them into the Kingdom of Your Son. We ask for undeserved favor because You have told us how much You love Your creation. We are calling on that love to save our nation. It is a simple prayer, Lord, save us and heal us as only Your Spirit of Liberty can do.

We bless You this day for Who You are, for Your creation and for the total price Jesus paid to bring us into right standing with You. We pray in His name and in faith in His name. Amen.

What, Me Worry?
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. —Philippians 4:6

Whenever a preacher begins to talk about worry, I sense a pair of eyes staring at me. Without even turning my head, I know that my husband is looking at me to see if I’m paying attention.

I hate to admit it, but I’m a worrier. And precisely because there are a lot of people just like me, Jesus addressed this problem in Matthew 6:25-34 when He said: “Do not worry.” Don’t worry about the basic needs of life—food, clothing, shelter—and don’t worry about tomorrow.

Worry may be a symptom of a bigger problem. Sometimes it’s a lack of gratitude for the way God has cared for us in the past. Or perhaps it’s a lack of faith that God really is trustworthy. Or it may be a refusal to depend on God instead of ourselves.

Some people expand the worry circle to their families, friends, and churches. They’re a lot like the 10 spies in Numbers 13:26-33 who spread their fear and doubt to everyone else. But those who put their trust in God alone can stand alongside Joshua and Caleb, the only ones in the group of 12 whom God allowed to enter the Promised Land.

Don’t let worries hold you back from what God may be trying to teach you. He invites you to bring your anxious thoughts directly to Him (Phil. 4:6

When you feel the tension mounting,
And across the busy day
Only gloomy clouds are drifting,
As you start to worry—pray! —Anon.

To be anxious about nothing, pray about everything.

I believe God answers prayer,

Answers always, everywhere;

I may cast my anxious care,

Burdens I could never bear,

On the God who heareth prayer.

Never need my soul despair,

Since He bids me boldly dare,

To the secret place repair,

There to prove He answers prayer.

AMEN SISTER AND GRACE TO ALL CHRISTIAN PATRIOTS!

“If we suffer, we shall also reign with him.”
- 2 Timothy 2:12

We must not imagine that we are suffering for Christ, and with Christ, if
we are not in Christ. Beloved friend, are you trusting to Jesus only? If
not, whatever you may have to mourn over on earth, you are not “suffering
with Christ,” and have no hope of reigning with him in heaven. Neither are
we to conclude that all a Christian’s sufferings are sufferings with
Christ, for it is essential that he be called by God to suffer. If we are
rash and imprudent, and run into positions for which neither providence
nor grace has fitted us, we ought to question whether we are not rather
sinning than communing with Jesus. If we let passion take the place of
judgment, and self-will reign instead of Scriptural authority, we shall
fight the Lord’s battles with the devil’s weapons, and if we cut our own
fingers we must not be surprised. Again, in troubles which come upon us as
the result of sin, we must not dream that we are suffering with Christ.
When Miriam spoke evil of Moses, and the leprosy polluted her, she was not
suffering for God. Moreover, suffering which God accepts must have God’s
glory as its end. If I suffer that I may earn a name, or win applause, I
shall get no other reward than that of the Pharisee. It is requisite also
that love to Jesus, and love to his elect, be ever the mainspring of all
our patience.
We must manifest the Spirit of Christ in meekness, gentleness, and
forgiveness.
Let us search and see if we truly suffer with Jesus.
And if we do thus suffer, what is our “light affliction” compared with
reigning with him? Oh it is so blessed to be in the furnace with Christ,
and such an honour to stand in the pillory with him, that if there were no
future reward, we might count ourselves happy in present honour; but when
the recompense is so eternal, so infinitely more than we had any right to
expect, shall we not take up the cross with alacrity, and go on our way
rejoicing?

Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, to the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

Thank you for joining me in prayer. You are truly a blessing to me.

Amen to your wonderful prayer, and to the other words on this thread.

We have a Gracious, Infinite, Omnipotent LORD of the Universe -- yet HE hears our prayers - and HE works through the prayers of HIS people. Wwhy, or how, I'll never know (at least not on this side of eternity) -- but HE does, and HE has chosen this means.
Thank you Father, Thank you LORD Jesus. Protect and guide our President, and protect our troops. May we keep our eyes focused on the Son, knowing through Him we see the Father - and we see the Love that has been poured out on our behalf. May we share this love in all we do, to bring the Light of the World where darkness now temporarily reigns - until HIS return.

Revelation 22:20-21 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in every way and [that your body] may keep well, even as [I know] your soul keeps well and prospers.

May God bless you for your obedience to pray.

Amen to your prayer.

Why pray? John Wesley once said, "It seems that God is limited by our prayer life. He can do nothing for humanity unless someone asks Him." James 4:2......ye have not, because ye ask not. . Therefore, we are all grateful to you for praying God's heart for our President, this nation and our troops.

Yes, even so, come Lord Jesus.

Amen.

"It seems that God is limited by our prayer life. He can do nothing for humanity unless someone asks Him."

I am amazed that the Sovereign LORD of the Universe uses the prayers of sinful worms - but HE does.
What a great privilege and what great Grace.
All praise to God.
