Rush In a Hurry - July 3, 2008
Rush In A Hurry Show Notes ^ | 7/3/08 | Rush Limbaugh

On Today’s Show...

Minnesota's "Mr. Right," Jason Lewis of KTLK-FM in Minneapolis, guest hosted an installment of Open Line Friday on Thursday. Visit Jason's Stack of Stuff right here. El Rushbo returns to the Golden EIB Microphone after Independence Day Weekend.

Rush Signs a Contract for America: "I've extended my partnership at Clear Channel through 2016. I'm not going anywhere. I'm your host for life. As I've said on many occasions: none of this would have been possible without you, and I can't thank you enough. It's a debt I can never repay." (details) (Rush 24/7 Members: Listen Here)

Jason Lewis Pearl of Wisdom: "Rush's big deal underscores the power of radio, my friends. For advertisers that are missing out, this is a signal that says, 'The radio business can afford this 'cause it works, while other media are imploding.'"

The left seeks to redefine patriotism as ripping America, compulsory national service, and paying the confiscatory tax rates Democrats pile on us. The USSR had patriotism, too. Every country does. Patriotism in America is more than loving a geographic area. It's about loving the ideals of the Founders. (Rush 24/7 Members: Listen Here)

Jason Lewis Pearl of Wisdom: "None of these ethanol-state senators ever complain about the speculation in corn or wheat that's driven up the prices. It's only oil. Why is that? It's because they have a bias against oil." (Rush 24/7 Members: Listen Here)

Obama's new ad says he "worked his way" through college and law school. But his campaign says he had two summer jobs. Oops. (Rush 24/7 Members: Listen Here)

I love listening to Rush but he takes way too many days off. I think he has forgotten what it is to work a real work week.

He's been saying that because this is an election year he's trying to take small breaks instead of large ones.

Try giving him a break.

Rush does not take any more days off than what I get for vacation or personal days.

My husband and I will actually have a holiday off together. It’s been so many years that I don’t know when the last one was. My husband and I will not have a day off together (excluding vacation days) until this time NEXT YEAR. Should I whine? Happy Fourth of July everyone! :-)

The managing partner of the law firm I work at today asked another one of our attorneys if he had the “illegal fireworks” ready for his kid. LOL. You know it’s bad when attorneys say things like this.

No offense but you must alot more days off than I do. Between his vacations, speaking engagements, golf tournaments, holidays, weekends and whatever I'm missing in there, he gets a hell of a lot of days off. Personally, I work 26 days a month, get only 7 holidays a year, weekends (occasionally) and my usual 2 weeks a year vacation off. Don't think I'm complaining because I'm not, but I sure wish I had all the time off government and other union employees do (plus their benefit packages). All in all, I still think Rush gets more time of than the “ordinary” person does.
