Obama Protesteth Too Much

Sen. Barack Obama spoke on the subject of patriotism this past week in an effort to undo some of the damage he has already inflicted on his own image -- through his associations, his statements and policy positions -- and to obscure his liberalism.

Liberals rightly feel defensive about their patriotism because they always seem to find themselves blaming the United States for this or that, exhorting us to be more like the "enlightened" nations of Europe or forever shouting that we are a "laughing stock" in the eyes of other nations.

It was not a conservative who wrote in an editorial this week: "Tuck the soaring speeches in a drawer for another time. This year, America doesn't deserve to celebrate its birthday. This Fourth of July should be a day of quiet and atonement. For we have sinned."

It was Philadelphia Inquirer columnist Chris Satullo, who, like so many liberals, is angry at America because he sees it as standing for torturing prisoners, imprisoning enemy combatants without hearings, rendition and other denials of human rights. According to Satullo, America isn't safer because our alleged abuses have "spawned new enemies by the thousands, made the jihadist rants ring true to so many ears. So put out no flags. Sing no patriotic hymns. We deserve no Fourth this year."

Sorry, but you just don't hear much of this type of rhetoric from conservatives. And Obama and the entire Democratic establishment know it.

Obama has proven beyond doubt, with his willful assocaitions of long standing, his long standing membership in a hate-filled church, and his own stances on the issues, that he is a militant anti-American and an abject marxist, either of which disqualify him for consideration as a patriot.

It sullies the name and is an absolute disrespect and corruption of the word to consider Barrack Hussein Obama in the same company of those patriots who have selfleslly, out of love for country, sacrificed greatly, up to and including thier own lives, to preserve this Republic and its liberty. We do not need to be told who a patriot is. We find it out ourselves and then those who are such do not go about crowing about it.

And then Obama has the nerve to lecture us and toot his own fake horn.

It is far past time to speak directly on these matters and expose the scam and charlatan that Obama is.

Thank you for your persistent posts. The Obama campaign might be characterized by its slogan “Yes, we can!” but his administration would be one of “No, you can’t”:

No, you can’t:
love American as it is
drill for oil in ANWR
drill for oil offshore
develop coal reserves in the country
build nuclear power plants
lower taxes
get school vouchers
defend Iraq or Afghanistan
rein in Iran
make France not like us
treat terrorists like terrorists
drive the car you want
keep your house comfortably warm or cool
spew carbon dioxide
maintain a defense for the country
take unilateral action in the event of an attack
keep this nation as a superpower
ignore Kyoto
