Sur Baher, Jerusalem (CNSNews.com) - As Israeli officials were mulling Israel's response to what is being described as a terror attack in the heart of Jerusalem, Arab residents of the man's Jerusalem neighborhood -- and his widow -- were still in shock and disbelief on Thursday.
The incident highlighted the delicate balance between Israeli Jews and Arabs who share the city.
Husam Taysir Dwayat, 30, an Arab resident of Jerusalem, drove a front-end loader down a busy main street of Jerusalem on Wednesday, crushing cars in his path, ramming a bus until it overturned and setting off a stampede of people running for their lives.
Three Israelis were killed, including a 33-year-old mother whose five-month old baby was snatched from her vehicle by a passer-by just seconds before Dwayat smashed her car.
Dozens of others were injured. Dwayat was finally stopped by an off-duty soldier, a civilian and an off-duty anti-terror policeman, who all climbed onto the cab, struggled with him and finally shot him dead as he yelled Allahu Akbar and tried to continue driving.
Three terrorist organizations claimed responsibility for the attack, but residents of Sur Baher, where Dwayat lived with his wife and two sons, said that Dwayat had no such connections.
According to reports, Dwayat appears to have acted alone and was not part of a terrorist organization. He did have a criminal record, mainly for drug felonies and furniture theft, the Jerusalem Post quoted a police spokesman as saying.

No doubt I'll be blasted for this but... my sympathies for the Israeli Arabs who've been trying to make a go of it in Israel. The last thing they need is to have the Israeli Jews turn on them.
(And let's be frank: how many Jews are there -- present, much less represented in government -- in Arab-dominated countries? I work with a few Arabs; they're not all hawkish on this issue.)

His ultimate goal was to attack Mahane Yehuda, or the “Shuk”, one of the largest markets in Jerusalem. Undoubtably, there were hundreds of Jews buying their Shabbat groceries. This T*rd was indoctrinated in prison, by Hamas, and he was a terrorist. I was on that bus last week, and it makes my blood boil. My best friends in jerusalem ride it everyday. This is an attempt to change their lives—well, the only lives that might change is that the Israelis might start shooting a little quicker, and we may have to do away with some family housing. Here are what my friends sent my shortly after the attack (my best friend was on the bus 30 minutes before the attack.): “We are still depressed about yesterday’s attack. Both women that died went to our Synagogue. We knew one of the ladies – and that she was. She had three children. She taught at the blind school. What a waste. The other lady was younger. She tried for years to have children and after many treatments had a baby a couple of months ago. Someone pulled the baby from the car before the bulldozer ran over it for a second time, saving the baby in the last minute. But we all go on.” Revenge is mine, sayeth the L-rd, and he will avenge these innocent deaths.

Yes, this is another attempt by the Brits to explain away terrorism—he learned his committment in prison by Hamas, but the BBC is looking for non terrorism reasons. His intent was to take out several hundred Jews—The Machane Yehuda Market (the Shuk) was only two blocks away, and thank G-d there was someone with a gun to send him to his 72 virgils.

When Israel deported the families, invented reasons to jail them & have them ‘mysteriously’ die in custody, Palestinians were actually scared. Now it’s just a joke.

During the Philippine Insurrection, General John Joseph “Black Jack” Pershing effectively ended the conflict with a single act.
He took several condemned (Muslim) Moro fighters, had a pit dug, and had a number of dead pigs thrown into the pit. Then he ordered several of the condemned prisoners to be executed, and their bodies thrown into the pit with the dead pigs and buried.
This was done in full view of the other Moro prisoners, who were then released and allowed to return to their side, unharmed, to tell the tale. The Muslim Moros then, as a group, stopped their insurrection, purely out of the fear of reaching a similar fate.
I say this with respect to the endless conflict between Israel and the Palestinians.
Few people are aware that pigs are, or at least were, unless the practice has finally been prohibited, raised in Israel, for the purposes of sale to non-Jews. The pig farmers are, or were, secular Jews, and have no great problem with caring for and handling pigs.
So in cases of foul and premeditated acts of multiple homicide by Palestinians, the Israeli authorities should create a special graveyard, specifically for such terrorists (or parts thereof), that also contains at least one pig per grave.
There is no international obligation for a nation to return the body of terrorists to their family, where in the case of Muslims, it often receives a celebratory funeral which serves to inspire similar brutal and horrific acts. “Mourning tents” are erected to play host and serve food to honor the murderer and their vicious acts of terrorism.
The Israeli authorities should not make an issue of burying the remains of terrorists in the “pig” graveyard. They should just do it, with little fanfare, and only after a number of dead terrorists have been thus interred, to allow knowledge of the practice to leak out to the Muslim community. Specifically in Gaza, where the great majority of attacks now originate.
Ironically, if the Israelis cannot bear the thought of doing this, they could still just withhold the terrorist remains, and allow the *rumor* of the pig graveyard to precipitate.
If the reaction was unpalatable, they could produce the remains and deny everything. But if the Palestinian reaction was of so much fear that they discontinued their murderous ways, it would have been the key all along.
