Try (b.)

This election has all the makings of a reverse of 1984. There are indelible Red states that will turn Blue, like Montana, maybe Virginia, because McCain is the pseudo-Republican candidate who is not only a bad candidate, but has a campaign staff that is even worse. He just started his third reorganization, but it doesn’t matter, because the ones he picks are just as clueless as he is and continue to diss the base while pandering to groups who will never vote for a Republican ever - like Hispanics, “independents”, soccer moms.

There is a silver lining after the storm. The Obama administration will be reviled universally after about six months of incompetence, corruption, and identity politics. The question is, will the Republicans be ready to take the reins or will they put up another Dole in 2012.

>>But there is more to campaign finance than what the candidates possess. The parties also spend lots of money on organizational aspects of the campaign, as well as some advertising.

Here, the Republicans had $53.5 million in hand on May 31, versus the Democrats’ paltry $4 million. Thus Mr. McCain and the RNC have $38 million more than Mr. Obama and the DNC.<<

An eye opener that the MSM doesn’t want you to know.

I knew something was up when the DNC had problems paying for the Pepsi Center...

They have no chance of winning but they can cost McCain the election. Anything or anyone who does not work to insure a McCain victory this November, does the work of the Democrats, Obama, and Soros. That is even more true of those who scheme to steal votes away from Republicans.

Don’t worry. It’s a long time between now and November.

But this poll scares me because it is Rasmussen. He is a pretty good pollster and a Republican.

Remember Kerry was 10 points ahead of W during this time 4 years ago.

They voted for Clinton/Gore in 1992 by a narrow margin, but that was only because Montana was one of Perot’s best states. The totals were something like 154,000 for Clinton, 144,000 for Bush, and 107,000 for Perot.

Given the state of the economy, the unpopularity of the Iraq War, the stupidity of the GOP, and the weakness of McCain, Obama should be leading by twenty points in all the polls. Instead, the best the media can do is tell us he’s leading by four or five points in some swing states. That points to him being an incredibly weak candidate. He barely won his party’s nomination, and probably wouldn’t have won it if the Wright issue had come out sooner. His performance deteriorated as the primary season progressed, and Hillary was winning most of the contests at the end. There just wasn’t enough time and there weren’t enough states left after the Wright incident for her to overcome the early lead he opened up before anyone knew anything about him.

Obama is pro-coal and he is anti coal. That is where he is weakest at in Montana. When Montanan's see that his policy's will put them out of work and have a negative affect on our economy, the polls that favor him will disappear.

His Montana "Super Delegates" who pander to the resource extraction interests in this state will have to back off from supporting Obama if they want to preserve their own jobs.

Montana could very well go Democrat. It was a Representative from Montana who voted against entering WWI and WWII. The Republican Party is in a shambles and the Democrats control the Statehouse and both Senate seats. Montana has always been quirky. This is a state where McCain's reputation as a Maverick will help him.

All of these polls are such BS.

Seriously.

Big media exists to distort reality, produce deceptions and steamroll McCain. They want Obama in the White House, and are attempting to shape public opinion through their LIES and MANIPULATION of data.

Americans are continuously given opportunities to see the real Obama (Ayers, Rezko, Wright, Farrakhan, Pfleger, Shabazz, etc).

I refuse to believe that the media is conducting a fair and balanced polling process. What I really suspect is that they are oversampling registered democrats, producing falsified data or a little of both.

I refuse to believe that any of the MSM stories are honest and fair reporting in the slightest.

McCain may well lose, but it won’t be a reverse 1984 by any strech (remember, Mondale only carried his home state).
Actually, I think its very encouraging that McCain and Obama are so close in the polls. While most polls show Obama up slightly, typically the Dem candidate is up by double digits in early summer. Obama is nowhere near that.

Frankly, I think Obama would have to poll up at least ten points to win the election.
Two reasons for this:
1. Many Obama supports will not bother to vote (especially young people).
2. Many people may say they support Obama, to appear hip and avoid seeming “bigoted”. Of course, they may act completely different behind the voting curtain. This is true for Whites, Asians and even Hispanics.

Of course, I could be wrong. With every election cycle, there are more & more stupid, brainwashed moonbats out there.

“Remember Kerry was 10 points ahead of W during this time 4 years ago.”

Not in the Rasmussen poll. Kerry was never ahead in that poll by more than +2.8. Rasmussen called 2004 and 2006 dead on, and he’s had Obama at +6 or +7 in the daily tracking for weeks, and each new round of polling in the purple states is going toward Obama. The numbers of undecideds are going down, down, down and they’re not picking McCain.

McCain better stop campaigning in Colombia and start in OH, PA and VA or he’s going to lose, period. I’ve never seen a stupider campaign in my life. McCain’s been spending inordinate amounts of time in the Pacific Northwest, California and Central America. It’s the electoral votes, stupid! He needs to campaign in purple states but quick or it’s over.

They have no chance of winning

This is not the main point of a third party which is to shape the overall debate. If they can force one, or both, of the main parties to shift their positions or lose votes. incidentally, this is even more an issue for Obama who faces a threat on his left flank (Nader) that currently is polling ahead of Barr. If Barr can teach the GOP not to run another "loser" like McCain, he has won.

The only reason The Mesiah has any chance in Montana is the huge influx of Californians into that state over the last 2 decades. The state appears to now be thoroughly Californificated. Real Montanans, hang your heads in shame.

That is even more true of those who scheme to steal votes away from Republicans.

You cannot "steal" votes. Those votes don't belong to McCain just because he has an 'R' next to his name. McCain has to EARN those votes. Maybe if he'd stop pandering to leftists and not have been such a huge conservative backstabber in the past, things would be easier.

McCain is a frickin' dud candidate. Anyone who voted for him in the primary helped ensure Dole II.

Yep he is no true conservative but either is Barr. The truth of the matter is we have 2 practical choices in reality.

We can vote McCain or we can help put Obama in so we can have 3-4 more Ruth Bader Ginsbergs’s. That is not in the best interest of any libertarian of right mind.

Say what!

You have a lot of confidence that the radical Democrats will let your candidate of choice have the presidency back in 2012.

The very nice tame radical liberal socialist always truth telling Democrats will just meekly say we can not handle government (snicker) and say here: you stupid American conservatives calling themselves Republicans, we have taken over the Supreme Court with three radical liberal judges, enacted new laws allowing universal same sex marriage, mandatory homosexual classes, no home schooling, more new taxes, 20 to 40 million new non English speaking citizens,Universal Health Care for the masses, diversity for blacks, diversity for Hispanics, Diversity for homosexuals drive alive at 55, Nationalized mean old energy companies, no drilling, no nukes, more taxes, down sized military by cutting military spending and using money for expanded entitlement programs, new harsh gun laws, reparations, more new taxes,"Hey, Hey, What'd We Say, Americans Christian God Got To Go Today", yep, bye, bye Miss American Pie.

Think of really nice liberal socialists like; Hugo Chavez, Robert Mugabe, Fidel Castro, Daniel Ortega.

Oh yea I'm really going to trust the future to come along and make things the way they used to be.

How many times have we heard this same old song before.

Oh yes contract with America 1994 and as Tennessee Ernie said what did we get “Another Day Older and Deeper In Debt”
