TEHRAN (FNA) - Iran's Air Force chief announced that the Islamic Republic has successfully launched the production line of radar-evading "stealth" fighter jets.
Brigadier General Ahmad Mighani was quoted by press tv as saying Tuesday that the new jets would significantly enhance the Air Force's combat and defensive capabilities.
Iran has recently started manufacturing superior "Quick Reaction" tanks to increase its defense self-sufficiency.
Iran has also developed an electro-optical surveillance system that acts as a viable alternative when radars fail to cover a particular range.
"We have upgraded our air force fleet, radar-systems, and missile systems over the past few years and we are now ready to counter any threat," Brig. Gen. Mighani continued.
He added that the Iranian Air Force would prove its dominance by immediately crushing anyone who dares to try and penetrate Iran's airspace.
Washington and Tel Aviv accuse Tehran of pursuing a military nuclear program and threaten Iran with the use of military force if the Islamic Republic continues with its nuclear enrichment program...

Unfortunately, they can only use stealth bombs, which are lighter than air and tend to pop when touched by something sharp.

Invisible to radar, not much of a weapons load capacity though.

They are fiting T72 tank turrets and gun to M60 tanks.
And replacing the engine with a better one.
They got the idea from the M60-120S program where an M1 Turret and gun is fitted to an M60 plus the engine and suspension are replaced...
To: Virginia Ridgerunner
“Hardly stealthy! “
It’s what they had to tell the pilots, in order to get them convinced to confront the IDF and USAF.
What are ‘Quick reaction’ tanks?
Is it a little tank beside the pilot, with a tube going to his mouth, that injects a big puff of crystal meth into ‘his’ airstream?

To: Fennie

It may be this, but when this sketch and a photo of it flying came out, their were comments from I think Bill Sweetman ( One of the 1st to write about our stealth program) about it.
These comments noted the air intake over the LEX which would preclude any air induction at high alpha's unless it is vortex air, which might not be good, and make your compressor go bang. Note the fins below the rear fuselage, good for V tails which this is given there is no horizontal tail surface.
I can't help but wonder if it is for real it flies like crap, and no I am not an Aerodynamics guy other than an amateur one, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, and my gut feel tells me it's a kludge.
I can't find the photo of it flying but it is out their, and that is of course if that photo wasn't a photoshop.
