[...] But we're burying the real news here. It seems that Heller may not have brought his gun with him to register, but he was armed with a load of candidate petitions, Duggan said.
Seems that Heller is planning to run for the House seat currently held by Eleanor Holmes Norton. Heller is seeking signatures to be on the ballot as a libertarian candidate.
A man identifiying himself as J. Bradley Jansen, who said he was Heller's campaign manager, said Heller must get 3,000 signatures and has until the end of August to collect them.

Give ‘em Hell Heller.
See tagline.
Great news. Makes me love this country.

Great news, but he might be ethnically challenged to take the seat away from her in that district.
you go heller!
I hope Heller doesn’t make the rookie mistake of getting three thousand signatures and then relaxing.
If you have three thousand and one signatures, all they have to do is find two phony ones to throw out your candidacy. You keep getting signatures until there’s no hope they can invalidate enough.

The GOP doesn't even try to run a race in that district, and Dick Heller doesn't want support from people who don't even try.
That's why.
I'm sending him campaign contributions.
Isn’t the DC delegate a non-voting honorary position? Too bad where he should go is on the city council, who are the ones making the stupid laws that make DC a living hell.
The position is a ‘delegate’ which doesn’t get to participate in the final vote on legislation, I read.
