Race Menu for the weekend series
While Indianapolis Motor Speedway is the most popular racetrack in the Hoosier State, the vast majority of motorsports events held in Indianapolis are held at O'Reilly Raceway Park, including a Craftsman Truck Series race and a Busch Series event. Drag racing, road racing, Sprint Car races and other events suited to a shorter track fall to ORP, which changed its name from Indianapolis Raceway Park in 2006. You can also usually find a large racing program there on the night before the Indianapolis 500.
The annual NHRA U.S. Nationals are traditionally held there on Labor Day weekend and SCCA events are held on the park's road course.

TONYS time to win #20 first across the finish line. Tony has been an unhappy camper since JGR switch to Toyotas. One could see in Tony's eyes that he was very unhappy!
I wish him luck in his newly set venture!
Good luck Tony!

If I seem a little cranky, it’s because Miss Nautilus was unkind this evening. Thursday is a state holiday in Utah, Pioneer Day, which commemorates the arrival of the seagulls in the valley. Or statehood. Or something. Anyhow, I get until Monday to recover from the abuse.
Sad news... I had to bury my ProForm rowing machine. It was only 25. So young. So young. UPS showed up today with reinforcements. I’m too tired to open the box. I’ve got all weekend. I’m going to switch over to the George Carlin diet for the weekend (large bowls of leaves and diet rum).
I’ll incinerate a cow in your honor.

#23 Johnny Benson is one of the good guys in the Craftsman Truck Series and all of NASCAR.
In the cup series after 19 races points leader Kyle Bush has a 262 point lead over Jr who is in second.
In the truck series after 13 races this weeks points leader Benson has a 1 point lead over second place and a 5 point lead over the third place truck.
The 11th place truck is only 247 points behind Benson, 15 points closer to the leader than 2nd place Jr in the cup series.
I am a cup series fan first, but the truck series is a close second with me. Love to watch those trucks run, I'll be watching Friday night.

Heh. Nope. We didn’t see her. We were mostly hanging out at my wife’s cousin’s trailer, or walking back and forth to the stands. The next day, he made it to the Funny Car final, but lost. Still, not a bad day.

I refuse to call this race anything but the Brickyard 400. I agree. This is getting out of hand. I refuse to buy Coke-Zero just because of the former Firecracker 400. What's next the Daytona 500 under some product name?
I'm a Tony Stewart fan. I'd like to see him win this race so we can just move on with the rest of the season. I heard the #14 for his car next year? The Silly season continues.

Johnny Benson in a good Chevy would be perfect.
An interesting poll this week at http://www.nascar.com/index.html
"Which event produces the better product in terms of racing?"
Cup Series at Indianapolis (12642)......... 60%
Craftsman Truck Series at ORP (5612)... 27%
N'wide (Bush) Series at ORP (2643)...... 13%
I wonder if a poll would change much if all three series were at the same track, say Atlanta, Bristol or ?

Tony Stewart will drive the No. 14 Chevrolet in his debut next season with his own Sprint Cup Series team, Stewart-Haas Racing, and will share sponsorship from Office Depot and Old Spice, the Observer has learned.
A formal announcement of Stewart's car number and sponsorship plans will be made this weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, multiple sources said Monday.
There has been a lot of speculation Stewart could announce his new teammate for next season this weekend but sources said Stewart-Haas Racing would have no announcement about teammates at Indianapolis.
The leading candidate for the second SHR ride is Ryan Newman, who announced last week he was leaving Penske Racing at the end of this season.
However, while he may end up with Stewart's team, Newman is still considering other offers, sources said, including a late offer from a fellow Dodge organization, Gillett Evernham Motorsports.
