Citizen of the World?
New York Sun ^ | July 25, 2008

Posted on 07/25/2008 5:25:04 AM PDT by Zakeet

So Barack Obama, whose father is from Kenya and who attended school in Indonesia, now appears before a crowd of 200,000 cheering Germans in Berlin to proclaim himself a "citizen of the world." It makes you wonder whether he's running for president of America or secretary general of the United Nations, and it is reminiscent of Senator Kerry's ill-fated 2004 debate pledge to subject American policies to a "global test."

Not that these columns are against a judicious internationalism. Mr. Obama's turn toward the idea of global responsibility is actually a welcome note coming from someone who spent the primary campaign demagoguing Senator Clinton on the charge that free trade deals her husband signed were sucking American jobs from Ohio to Mexico and Canada. If you are really a "citizen of the world," why should it matter?

[Snip]

We'd settle for a president who is a citizen of America, thank you very much. Or at least one with the humility to recognize that the president is elected by Americans, not Germans.

[Snip]

It's amazing how far away Mr. Obama will travel to avoid Senator McCain's invitation to participate in a series of joint town hall meetings. As the Democratic primary season wore on, the more voters got to see of Mr. Obama the less they seemed to like him. Maybe Mr. Obama's campaign aides are hoping that if they can just keep him out of America for the rest of the campaign he might be able to eke out a victory in November.

Just stop this stupid and outdated technicality of an Election. Osama/bama is now our FUERHER, er president of America and the entire world.

The graphic below shows, the only difference between o-B-ama and o-S-ama is just a bit of B.S.

back in the 90's when trouble would hit the Clinton Administration, Clinton would run overseas where he was loved. The media would fawn over him, showing all us redneck morons how much Europe loved him.

I think Obama may end up spending most of his time this campaign in Europe.

By the way, I saw a woman debating Chrissy Mathews and some punk Dem on MSNBC and she made a great point. The reason Obama made this trip was to give him some experience, otherwise he has none. Of course Mathews was busy talking over her mouthing Bush and the Dem was busy lying.

I still do not understand how a person can run for president and not have to prove he is a natural born citizen. Is there no proof required. Is it easier to get a passport than run for president?

I could care less if his mother was a baby mama or whether he was Muslim as a youth (except this makes another proven
lie). But I care that the Constitution is followed.

Couldn’t a court force him to prove his citizenship?

Left Behind describes the Anti-Christ and Obama fits in many ways except Obama is far too stupid. 57 States give me a break.

Unless he will have 57 -60 States in his tenth year as POTUS.

I have yet to see conclusive evidence he is an American citizen. Some photoshopped image of a Hawaiian Certification doesn’t cut it.

I think he is counting on the voters being stupid, and it looks like a lot of them are. Now they are claiming when he said 57 states, he meant he had been to some of them more than once. I also think he thinks getting elected is just a minor technicality. If he loses he will just take it anyway. Recounts recounts and more recounts. If he can get this far without having to prove he is a US citizen, he won’t meet with much opposition when he steals an election, especially if it is close.

If he can get in, and he will, he doesn't plan on giving it up. I think when he talks about his 10th year he is talking about ruler of the world, not POTUS.

Citizen of the World!!!>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I am dancing with glee. Obama just lost the November election.

1) He did not mention Jesse Owens in his Brandenburg gate Speech before a measely 50,000 circus goers. 2) He did not visit US troops in hospital. 3) He has no viable energy policy position. 4) He has no record of acheivement of presidential timbre. 5) He has made statements repeatedly which reveal nauvete and even stupidity. 6) His campaign exhibits media forms such as posters and web sites which are historically totalitarian 7) Obama has shown that he is easily controllable by liberal socialist aristocratic money and associated ideology which are distinctly un-American and unpatriotic. The only thing Obama has going for him at this point is that John McCain has not yet taken advantage of these weaknesses to put Obama to bed for good.

I beleive McCain is biding his time , waiting for a time line of political attack from which Obama can not recover prior to the Nov. election.

Obama as a candidate has offered himself to early in his political career. He is toast.

Better still, composted toast.

I am really hoping that somehow Hillary walks out of the Convention with the nomination. The thought of an Obama Hussein presidency scares me to death. What is worse is that I don't think McCain really wants to be president.

Between Hillary and Hussein, I would prefer Hillary by a mile. Make that a million miles.

Much to my surprise, I have to agree with you. I spent the past 8 years worrying about Hillary becoming president. Now, when compared to Obama, I consider her a far lesser threat. Re: McCain, I think he does want to become president, but I am not sure he wants to become president badly enough to really fight for it. The scenario we have is like a boxing match with only one person actually fighting. That would be Obama. McCain gives a jab back every now and then to remind everyone he is still in the ring, but for the most part he just dances around.

Citizen of the world?

I just love this new political correctness. The elder obamallama was more like a socialist, alcoholic vagabond...and the press is lauding him.

The say the MSM is on its way to being a dinosaur...well, it'sd been one in my house for the past 15 years, as I don't watch any of their liberal tripe...and believe me, it is the way to go. There are too many sources available today for information to believe any of the alphabet networks.

“...Couldn’t a court force him to prove his citizenship?...”

Good question. Another one would be couldn’t an individual or group initiate a process to have a court force BHO to prove his citizenship? Fast track it before the Novemeber election.

I, too, support the Constitution on this point. If it’s proven that he is a NATURALIZED citizen and gets elected, that would set a Constitutional crisis and force BHO out of office. And no one could crawfish their way out of that. The Constitution is quite clear on this point.

You're right. There are a thousand candidates who would have been better. Unfortunately he is the one the stupid republicans picked to be their standard bearer. For an Old Soldier he has no fight in him. In reality he didn't even fight for the nomination. It fell into his lap because the conservative candidates all tripped over each other and destroyed themselves and the republicans allowed Independents to choose our Candidate.

McCain would be a billion times better then Hussein, but McCain does not appear to have the gumption to take Hussein to task on any issue.

I hope I'm wrong, but if McCain doesn't change his attitude, then we are going to have Hussein as president.

I question your analysis that the nomination "fell into his lap".

You need to get beyond your bitterness. I wanted Fred Thompson to win, he didn't, I move on.

re: I hope I'm wrong, but if McCain doesn't change his attitude, then we are going to have Hussein as president.

If McCain continues campaigning just as he has since he received the nomination, I am afraid that he will only win by default because Obama’s missteps have reached a critical mass. Several months ago McCain promised not to do any negative campaigning. He instead attacked Republicans who were simply stating the facts about Obama & Hillary. Meanwhile, his opposition made no such promise.

Remember how Bush Sr. ran an almost nonexistent campaign again Bill Clinton while Clinton was on the constant attack? I am beginning to experience severe deja vu.

McCain was not my candidate, but he is now. If he is not willing to fight, all I can say is God help us, because our candidate will not.

Waco was a fluke. Get over it.

Eighty some odd people burned alive ? Some fluke.

Perhaps you've forgotten Travelgate, where the FBI was used to clean out the travel office - of innocent employees - in handcuffs ?

Or the firing of every US attorney so hand picked sycophants could be installed to harass enemies and protect friends ?

Or the 900 FBI files in the hands of a bar bouncer ?

Or selling nuclear secrets to the communist chinese for campaign cash ?

Or declaring the nation's only low sulfur coal a national park so campaign supporters in Indonesia would have a monopoly?

Or Fort Marcy park ?

Fluke, my ass. The name Clinton is synonymous with incredible and blatant abuse of power, low-life criminal behavior and absolute disregard for the welfare of the country.

I can't believe you said that.
