Campaign News (GOP Club)

Let me begin with a big caveat: the McCain campaign still faces big structural obstacles. The Republican base is shrunken like a week old tomato on a sunlit window sill. Obama still has a bit of a lead in most recent polls, and despite the fact that his lead has always been narrow, and despite the fact that, on paper, his lead ought to be a lot larger, it is still better to hold a lead than to lose it. Nor did McCain's choice of a much younger running mate make him any younger, and his age remains his most...

John McCain and Sarah Palin have received a rousing welcome in Democratic-leaning Michigan. As they made their post-convention debut they stressed a strong America and the economy. Big crowds cheered the Arizona senator and Alaska governor as they arrived at Freedom Hill Amphitheater in Michigan's Macomb County, the home to a multitude of working-class union members. Republicans hope to win the blue collar vote with conservative positions on cultural and social issues. Senator McCain told the crowd: "These are tough times for many of you, in the state of Michigan, times are tough. Many people here were worried about keeping...

I think the PUMAs are the most objective political presence in this election cycle. Sure, they supported Hillary Clinton, but they were able to break out of party shackles and objectively see that Obama points their party in the wrong direction. One interesting observation is their surprise at how Democratic party leaders allowed Hillary to be maligned while the Republican party stood by Sarah Palin, even in her darkest hour. Some of those attacks against Hillary were harsh and frequently sexist. Such as Obama's comment about Hillary and "periodic" rage. (VIDEO AT LINK) Of course, one can argue that this...

After watching the presidential nomination acceptance speeches, I have a few comments to make. First for Obama. The guy has no clue what he is talking about. He spent almost the entire 45 minutes saying how terrible McCain is and was misinformed on almost every account. And on the rare occasion where he actually talked about himself, he was not able to convince me that any of his ideas are possible without costing me an arm and a leg. At one point he actually said that the republicans want for people born into poverty to pull themselves out of it....

Has anyone had their credit card hit twice for the same donation to McCain? This just happened to me. The correct one was about a month ago, then they hit me for a duplicate amount at the end of August. I've made a few phone calls, but still have not received a refund. I suspect this is not an isolated event, but something that may have happened to hundreds or even thousands of donors.

Ordinarily, I would never recommend MSNBC viewing to anyone. After all, when I'm not hosting my radio show or writing for Townhall.com, I work at Fox News Channel as a contributor. But if you happened to be Tivo'ing MSNBC last night after Sarah Palin's home run speech, you MUST check out poor Keith Olbermann. After fawning and gushing and salivating over the Democrats during their convention in Denver, Keith looked and acted last night like he had swallowed a fish bone. I mean, this guy was mad. Pathetically trying to use words like "condescending" and "saracastic", he did his best...

John McCain harkens back to a different era in America. Cue "Mr. Sandman" and let's take a trip back to good ole 1955. A time when America was safe and sound because the White House was occupied by a humble, plain speaking citizen soldier from Kansas. That man was Dwight D. Eisenhower. Ike is back on the scene with a vengance and I'm not talking about the hurricane steaming across the Atlantic. Reform. Prosperity. Peace. Sound familiar? It's not a coincidence that the McCain campaign is playing straight from Ike's playbook... Click here to read the full article

WHERE IS SECURITY?!! I can't believe this so-called "journalist" creep can just waltz up to Senator McCain's mother and daughter!!

Get ready folks, in just a few hours we are about to watch heads exploding from the hate filled moonbat left. Leading that charge might just be Portland's own Jack Bogdanski. Remember he is the creepy guy who bought, hook line and sinker, the story about Governor Palin faking her pregnancy (Que Twilight Zone music now). I checked out some of Jack's comments from his hate filled anti-Palin thread and found a few of these morsels that were posted on Sunday, August 31st. Check them out and get yourself a little chuckle. Doris, don't worry. By this time Tuesday, she...

It all began with Hillary Clinton and her eighteen million votes. Democrats said, “thanks, but no thanks,” when they hung Hillary Clinton and her supporters out to dry during the Democratic primary this year. Think about that - Democrats told the entire population of 27 congressional districts that they’re vote doesn’t count. This was a very bold, and ironically, Clintonesque move on the part of Barack Obama and the Democratic Party. In addition to the all important female voters who supported Hillary, the Clinton’s other top two minority groups were victims of Obama’s vice presidential selection process and the Democratic...

A fantastic article appeared in the New York Post today entitled The Time-Warped Sexist Assault on Sarah Palin, by columnist Andrea Peyser. The article highlights all the hypocrisies currently being dished out by the good ol' liberal left and their partners in crime the Media. Gov. Palin has been on VP campaign for less than a week and already she is being demonized by the MSM as a horrible mother figure for her career choices (among other things). Peyser writes: "When Joe Biden tragically lost his wife and infant daughter in a car wreck in 1972, not a single colleague,...

If Barack Obama was born on August 14, 1961 - then his mother was likely pregnant sometime in October of 1960. Since Obama's mother was born on November 29th, 1942 that would make her pregnant at 17. Last time I checked... Barack Obama had enormous respect for his maternal grandmother, even though this woman raised a child who got pregnant at age 17.

Barack Obama has inserted himself into the debate as to who has the most experience: he, or Sarah Palin. As the head of the Democrats’ ticket, he should view himself above such a question, and focus only on his credentials to lead. Instead, he has again made the issue of experience the campaign meme, which is a factor he is going to lose time and time again, especially since he is not running against Sarah Palin for president. This is playing out like I envisioned, and opposite to how the punditry on a sordid series of cable news shows predicted....

The Corporate Mainstream Media has just received word that they have ANOTHER gang-rape to attend. Just when they thought that they could take a break from their rampant bias, sexism and utter contempt for the concept of journalistic integrity, John McCain has given them another woman to deal with: Sarah Palin. Yesterday, the ‘New Democrats’ didn’t even know what to do with themselves. They were utterly stunned at the fact that they had just been outplayed and outmaneuvered by the Republicans (AGAIN!) by placing the only candidate with Executive experience on both tickets, and who “just happens” to be a...

Hi everyone. I used the search function, and couldn't find reference to an "official" FR Sarah Palin ping list. So, I thought I'd post something and ask everyone if they've seen one anywhere? If there isn't one that is already started, I would be happy to put one together. Seeing as we have only 10 weeks to go till the election, I thought it may be a good idea to put together a group here at FR that will get pings to articles and posts featuring; Releases from the Palin for Vice-President part of the McCain/Palin campaign, "MUST-READ" articles, videos,...

Ferraro Happy About Palin, Won't Reveal for Whom She's Voting (Jake Tapper, August 31, 2008, POLITICAL PUNCH) Former vice presidential nominee Geraldine Ferraro told National Public Radio's Jacki Lyden that she was happy to see Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin -- who mentioned Ferraro in her remarks Friday -- on the GOP ticket. "For 24 years I've been saying, 'It's great to be the first, but y'know, I don't want to be the only,'" Ferraro said. "And so now it is wonderful to see a woman on a national ticket." [...] As for whom Ferraro will vote, the former congresswoman from...

Democrat Bobby Bright leads Republican Jay Love in the race for the 2nd congressional district seat being vacated by retiring U.S. Rep. Terry Everett, R-Rehobeth, according to a poll released Tuesday by the Capital Survey Research Center. Bright, the mayor of Montgomery, was the choice of 47.1 percent of the district voters surveyed. Love, a state representative from Montgomery, was the choice of 37.4 percent. Another 15.5 percent of voters surveyed said they didn't know or didn't reply when asked for whom they would vote in the congressional race.

Beautifully done. If you are supporting this ticket, please get this out to everyone you know.

Leave it to the solipsistic, dead tree media to get it wrong once again. They are trying to come to terms with McCain's selection of Sarah Palin and what a masterstroke it was. They buy into the Obama "hope and change" B.S. then defend his choice of Joe Biden as V.P, yet when a true example of change smacks them upside the dome, they bash it. What the media can't understand is that Palin has reinvigorated a GOP that sorely needed it. During the primaries, there was excitement and drama as Obama caught and then overtook Hillary Clinton. It was...

Did anyone see this footage from Sarah Palin's stint as a sportscaster in March, 1988, shortly before she got married?

A few weeks back, I wrote a column.., "Who Wrote 'Dreams From My Father'?" My research led me to the conclusion that a literary neophyte like Obama could not have written the memoir... snip ...publishers had sought him out (he was a college student)...still unknown, contract in hand. I doubted... snip "The whole story smells of purposeful intervention," I wrote. snip ..."who did the intervening and why?" snip ...Percy Sutton,...sheds light on the question of who this godfather might be. snip Dr. Khalid Abdullah Tariq al-Mansour, "the principle adviser to one of the world's richest men", a guest lecturer at...

Rasmussen’s daily tracking poll today shows the same four-point lead Barack Obama held yesterday over John McCain. This poll, the first to show reaction from Obama’s speech, indicates that Obama didn’t get any more bounce out of his Invesco Field appearance than he received from the Democratic convention as a whole: The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Saturday is the first to include reaction to both Barack Obama’s acceptance speech and John McCain’s selection of Sarah Palin to be his running mate. The numbers are little changed since yesterday and show Barack Obama attracting 47% of the vote...

Hey DNC....We're Over It. Now You Get Over It! We watched in horror as you told your base that they were no longer needed and that we could just "stay home". We watched in stunned outrage when you were silent on sexism and propelled the race card. You called us uneducated, old, blue collar, gun toters, clingers, not urban, souless, clueless, and basically threw us to the dogs. You told us to shut up, get over it and fall in line. Many of us have donated, worked hard for the DNC for years if not decades. We have been true...

Senior officials from McCain Camp have confirmed that Alaskan Gov. Sarah Palin will be McCain's running mate. Considered to be a Republican Maverick (much like McCain), Pawlin defeated incumbent Gov. Frank Murkowski to claim her current position, which she has held for the last two years. She is the states first female Governor and will be the country's first female Vice-President. At age 44 Palin is younger than both Obama and Biden and is the mother of five children. Foxnews reportso n Palin's family and work ethic stating: "Sarah and Todd Palin have five children: boys Track, 19, and Trig,...

Barack Obama in his speech:You don't protect Israel and deter Iran just by talking tough in Washington.http://www.nbc4.com/politics/17329645/detail.html Does this mean that if you talk less tough [like Obamanation] you get better "results" in protecting Israel from Islamists' genocide?

TOP 10 REASONS McCAIN’S VP SHOULD BE ALASKA GOVERNOR SARAH PALIN Laurie Morrow • August 28, 2008 0:57am • Uncategorized Edit This REASON #10: PALIN’S YOUTH COMPLEMENTS McCAIN’S EXPERIENCE For months, Obama’s supporters have touted the Senator’s youthfulness as one of his qualifications for office (a strategy they’re apt to scale back on, given their selection of a Vice President nearly as old as McCain). If youth is seen as a plus by voters, then Alaska Governor Sarah Palin fits the bill. At 44, she is 3 years younger than Barack Obama, and the youngest person ever to be elected...

Senator McCain takes Senator Obama to the woodshed (again) using clips of Senators Biden, Clinton, Dodd, Obama, et al and President Clinton describing Obama's inexperience, with the backdrop of scenes from the Russian/Georgian war. GREAT AD!

In a brilliant attempt to capitalize and steal the spotlight from yet another one of Obamessiah's speeches, Camp McCain has decided to release an ad in battleground states tonight while Obama delivers his speech at the Democratic Convention. Reports out of Politico and DrudgeReport indicate that there may even be an early leak from Camp McCain in order to draw the attention away from Obama's sermon, I mean speech, and shift the focus of attention back to Camp McCain. Individuals close to the campaign state that the running mate choices are and continue to be : "Governor Mitt Romney of...

I made the mistake of watching the whole of Joe Biden's keynote DNC speech at the gym tonight. How underwhelming! Forgiving the inadvertent (and repeated) stumbling and bumbling, the substance of the speech itself was just painfully awkward. First, the theme of the evening was national security. CQ reports that one of the Democrat talking points was "stewardship of the armed forces." In line with this, I'm guessing, Biden threw in minor, trite, awkward mentions of the troops. The first was sandwiched, awkwardly disconnected, between his fawning adoration of Hillary Clinton and before the typical pandering to his home state...
-
The theme of tonight's Democrat Convention follies will be "Securing America's Future", or in dem language "abandoning your friends and kissing your enemies." In honor of this event, John McCain has released his latest ad called "Tiny", using Barry's own words against him. Here is the original clip, which I really wish they would have used in the ad. Barack also turned around the very next day and called Iran a "grave threat", something I believe should also be in the ad. Those video clips played back to back would not only strike at how naive and, frankly, stupid Barack...

The Democrats kicked off their convention to less than stellar poll results. After "President" Obama announced his VP choice, today polls shifted in favor of McCain. ((Side note / rant: I thought it was hysterical that former Messiah to the people John Kerry kept referring to Obama as PRESIDENT Obama, guess he hasn't been paying attention to public reactions or polls. )) Evidently the ads that were released by the RNC and McCain Camp showing Biden's distrust of Obama's experience regarding his White House Bid have struck a cord with voters... and rightfully so. Granted the Gallup poll showing McCain...

If you missed Hillary's speech tonight, let me summarize it for you: Obama is the Democrat nominee so I will support him, since he is the Democrat and I am a Democrat. She also talked about her campaign and how her candidacy inspired women and little girls. She looked great and her video was great. She just didn't make the case for Obama. She didn't talk about how he is qualified to lead. She said his name plenty of times, but she really didn't talk about him. Tomorrow night Bill Clinton will speak. We all know what he will talk...

First the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dl32Y7wDVDs Senator McCain, you should grab this video and play it on every ad you can. This is absolutely shocking reprehensible. He plans to universally disarm our nation. The question is for what, and more specifically “for whom”. UPDATE: Also see new more clearer and longer video here.

Two polls separate polls show a substantial number of Hillary Clinton’s supporters are considering voting for a Republican president, rather than Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama in November. A USA TODAY/Gallup poll conducted last Thursday-Sunday found 23 percent of Clinton’s supporters said they may vote for GOP presidential candidate John McCain in November. 47 percent said they were “solidly” Obama. A NBC/Wall Street Journal poll, released late last week, showed similar results. According to their poll 21 percent of Clinton’s supporters are planning to vote for McCain and 27 percent are undecided. 52 percent of the Clinton supporters polled said...

The Obama campaign has launched a new ad that fails to dispute a single fact in the American Issues Project's initial ad questioning Barack Obama's relationship with admitted domestic terrorist, William Ayers. "This response ad is more smoke and mirrors from a candidate desperate to obscure his longstanding relationship with admitted domestic terrorist William Ayers," said Ed Martin, American Issues Project's president. "Senator Obama is pretending to barely know the man who hosted the launch of his political career and with whom he has worked for years to advance a liberal agenda." Sen. Obama has defended his friend Ayers as...

For some reason we're having trouble contributing on McCain's website. I think it's because we're not sure John McCain will pick a pro-life running mate. We won't contribute to or even put on a bumper sticker for a pro-abortion candidate, ever. A strong stance against all illegal immigration will be a factor also.Illegal Immigration KillsIllegal Immigration Costs I'd like to say that giving up on idiotic climate change would be a major factor also, but addressing two out three of our concerns isn't too bad. Let's just say that McCain's bizarre and expensive desire to affect climate makes it difficult...

I believe the “how many homes doe John McCain own?” issue being harped on by Democrats is patently ridiculous. The McCain campaign should throw the issue right back at the Democrats! Here is my suggestion: Create a campaign ad using a number of ordinary yet entrepreneurial American citizens who also own multiple homes and who are McCain supporters. Paint the ad in terms of hard-working Americans who through saving, investing, personal labor, etc. have managed to acquire multiple properties to the betterment of their way of life, their family, and other Americans. They could be house-flippers who help revitalize communities,...

Washington, D.C. (AHN) - Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) will be trading jokes with late night talk show host Jay Leno during the opening night of the Democratic National Convention. The presumptive Republican nominee will appear as a guest on the 'Tonight Show with Jay Leno'as Democrats begin the historic nomination process for Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) Monday night. McCain has been on vacation from the campaign trail since late last week, ahead of his turn to be nominated during the Republican National Convention on Sept. 1-4 at the Excel Center in St. Paul, Minnesota. He plans to hold a rally...

It is ironically appropriate that Jimmy Carter will be one of the first speakers to address the Democratic National Convention. The worst President in recent American history should be present to pass on the baton of naive incompetence to his successor.

I cannot embed the video on WordPress or it would be here also! 08-23-08 I guess the dam is starting to break? Wow, just wow. In this article from the Rocky Mountain News, ANOTHER Clinton supporter has not jumped from one candidate to the other, but to the other side of the river completely. Hele On!!! I know that most of my visitors have been linked here from lib propaganda sites using me as an example. I get the joke: I am the only black man for McCain. Hilarious. Never mind that there are several others at my church alone who agree with me. What surprises me is the litany of racist, sexist and generally disrespectful comments I have been inundated with over the past 72 hours. Here are just a few: “I’ve heard of the Log Cabin Republicans. Is this site the Uncle Tom’s Cabin Republicans?” “Silly black man, McCain is for honkies!” “Idiot, Republicans...
